Percy Harvin (hip) to have surgery on Thursday
Dealing with a slight tear in his labrum, Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin spent today in New York City to get a second opinion on his injury.
And that second opinion has led to a decision to have surgery.
when everything is goin good sometimes life throw u a curve ball... sorry to half to report that my injury will require surgery...— Percy Harvin (@Percy_Harvin) July 30, 2013
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Harvin will have his surgery on Thursday and the estimated timetable for Harvin to return is three to four months.
The Seahawks have their bye in Week 12 (see schedule) as they play Harvin's former team on November 17th and then the Saints on Monday, December 2nd.
So unless his recovery is closer to three months, it's most likely that he returns after the team's bye.
In addition to the Harvin news, Sidney Rice, the team's No. 2 receiver, is in Switzerland getting a knee treatment. Coach Pete Carroll is optimistic, though, that Rice won't miss any (even preseason) games.
In addition to moving Harvin down (obviously) in my fantasy rankings, I will drop Russell Wilson a couple of spots from No. 7 to No. 10 as well.
