Ryan Clady, Broncos agree to 5-year deal

Of all the players designated with the franchise tag, the one that seemed most likely to strike a long-term deal with their club before Monday's deadline was Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady.

And he did.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Clady and the Broncos agreed to a five-year deal worth a maximum of $57.5 million, of which is $33 million is guaranteed.

Considering quarterback Peyton Manning turned 37 years old earlier this offseason, that means that Clady will protect Manning's blind side for the remainder of his career.

Last year, the Broncos ranked second in scoring offense (30.1 points per game) and fourth in total offense (397.9 yards per game), but they could be even more explosive in 2013 with the additions of Wes Welker and Montee Ball.
