The Monday Blitz: News, Notes and Links From Around the NFL

In addition to our normal posts that focus on fantasy football and/or the NFL Draft, I will begin making a daily post of quick-hit news items from around the NFL starting today.

The Jets have agreed to terms with first-round cornerback Dee Milliner; his former collegiate teammate, guard Chance Warmack, remains the sole unsigned first-round pick.

Bears rookie guard Kyle Long was impressive in the team's first day of training camp in pads.

Falcons running back Steven Jackson may be used prominently as a receiver out of backfield based on comments from head coach Mike Smith.

New teammate Reggie Bush describes wide receiver Calvin Johnson as "a freak of nature." Tim Twentyman of the team's website writes: "It's only three days into training camp and already Johnson is diving for footballs, going up in crowds to catch balls and regularly amazing both the fans and his teammates."

An MRI confirmed that Broncos center Dan Koppen tore his ACL on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the team has signed free-agent center Steve Vallos as the team announced.

Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden says that rookie running back Giovani Bernard is "dangerous" in the open field and has "picked up the protections very well."

Ravens second-year back Bernard Pierce has shown up to camp "bigger and faster," according to head coach John Harbaugh (via Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.

Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams has been held out of practice with a sore foot.

Giants DE/OLB Damontre Moore was one of the players that looked good during team drills on Sunday.

Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune tweeted, "Think there's no doubt Chargers backfield will be a rotation. Danny Woodhead too good at what he does on passing downs to keep off field."

A former high school teammate of Darrelle Revis and recently a janitor at Pittsburgh International Airport, cornerback Tommie Campbell may get a shot to start for the Tennessee Titans.

The Chargers may be considering the possibility of appearing on HBO's Hard Knocks, but quarterback Philip Rivers hopes they don't.

Raiders rookie linebacker Sio Moore tweeted that he will be "full go" at practice on Monday after sitting out on Sunday.

After the team's first practice in pads, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said of rookie defensive end Datone Jones: "I thought Datone looked very good, very comfortable. He's in good shape."
