The Tuesday Blitz: News, Notes and Links from Around the NFL

Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks returned to limited practice yesterday, but it was Rueben Randle that "stole the show," per Ebenezer Samuel of the NY Daily News.

Ravens running backs Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce got good news yesterday. The Ravens announced that they have re-signed free-agent fullback Vonta Leach.

Due to the inconsistency of Denarius Moore, Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune writes, "Rod Streater has been the most consistent player and could emerge as the go-to receiver for Flynn and Co. because they're relatively certain he'll come down with the ball."

Josina Anderson tweeted that coach Gary Kubiak said he hopes that Texans running back Arian Foster would be back on the field "midweek something like that."

Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert left practice yesterday on a cart due to an ankle sprain, but he's reportedly "fine."

Considering DeMarco Murray's lack of durability, the Cowboys backup running back could be a top-20 fantasy option for a few weeks at some point each season. Carlos Mendez of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram wrote the following: "But second-year veteran Lance Dunbar has zoomed past [rookie Joseph Randle] in camp, and third-year player Phillip Tanner has been more consistent. Randle, who couldn’t practice in the offseason because of a thumb injury, is battling undrafted rookie Kendial Lawrence for snaps and attention."

Titans first-rounder Chance Warmack reached a deal with the team yesterday and now all first-round picks are under contract.

Cardinals running back Ryan Williams will get a second opinion on his knee, which "flared up" on Sunday as the MRI came back "clean."

Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith continues to outperform incumbent starter Mark Sanchez during camp.

Per Pete Dougherty of the Green Bay Press-Gazzette, Packers rookie running back Jonathan Franklin stood out at the team's first padded practice.

The Dolphins will audition free-agent receiver Laurent Robinson (among others) on Tuesday and Austin Collie is "on their radar," according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Bills quarterback Kevin Kolb is singing the praises of rookie wide receiver Robert Woods: “Stud. I mean, legitimately a stud. I’ve bragged on him a lot in the last two days and really through camp. I mean, what I see from him, I’ve been with some really good rookie receivers. I mean some really good ones."

Since straining his hamstring last week, Ravens guard Kelechi Osemele returned to practice for the first time.
