Jonathan Stewart could start the season on the PUP list
Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart has yet to practice during training camp as he recovers from offseason surgery on both of his ankles.
It's unclear when Stewart will be healthy enough to return to practice and it's a possibility that he begins the season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, according to AP's Steve Reed.
"At this point anything is an option," [coach Ron] Rivera said following Tuesday's practice. "What you're hoping is you can get him on the football field and we'll see once the doctor gets a chance to look at him."
Considering his uncertainty, Stewart is a player to avoid in general in fantasy drafts, but DeAngelo Williams has a lot of upside from where he is being drafted if Stewart misses (at least) the first six games of the season.
In nine games last year, The Daily Show rushed 93 times for 336 yards and had 17 receptions for 157 yards with two total touchdowns.
