MRI shows Malcom Floyd has a knee "strain"

Initially, things looked bad, really bad, for Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd yesterday.

As Tom Krasovic of the San Diego Union Times tweeted during practice, "Players surround Floyd in prayer as trainers examine him. Very quiet."

Considering that the team had just recently lost Danario Alexander to a torn ACL, they could ill afford to lose the team's leading receiver — and Offensive MVP — from last year for the 2013 season.

And it appears that they won't.

Per Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union Tribune, the doctors are calling Floyd's injury a "strain." That means, we are likely looking at an injury that will sideline him for just a couple of weeks.

While Floyd has avoided a more serious injury yesterday, he has struggled to stay healthy and 31-year-old receiver has played in a full 16-game season only once (2009).

Floyd, who is my 54th-ranked fantasy receiver, had a career-high 56 receptions to go along with 814 yards and five touchdowns.

I also have teammates Vincent Brown (49th) and Keenan Allen (60th) inside my top 60 receivers.
