Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (foot) could be out for "awhile"

After leaving last night's preseason game due to a foot injury, Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell had an MRI today.

The results of the MRI are not yet known, but beat writer Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette tweeted twice (both good and bad news) about Bell's injury within the past hour.

His first tweet was that Bell's injury is "not as significant as teammate Matt Spaeth's Lisfranc," but that a "mid foot injury could keep Bell sidelined for awhile."

It seems unlikely that we will see Bell in either of the team's two remaining preseason games, but Bell's status for the opener against the Titans on Sept. 8th (Steelers' schedule) also appears in jeopardy.

Although I had moved Bell up in my rankings in the latest update over the weekend, I will obviously be moving him down in the next update, which will happen on Wednesday. Until more is known about his status, however, I'd personally avoid taking him as anything more than an RB4.

When healthy, he should produce as an RB2, but it's unclear what "awhile" will mean.

While I wouldn't specifically target any of the team's other running backs, I'd prefer Jonathan Dwyer over Isaac Redman if I had to choose one, but I would still take Bell before either option.
