Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola out vs. Falcons
Based on a tweet yesterday from the Boston Globe's Ben Volin, it seemed more likely than not that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski would make his season debut and that even slot receiver Danny Amendola would return in Week 4.
That said, Volin tweeted that a "lot could change" and it apparently has.
ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted this afternoon that neither player was on the team's flight to Atlanta for their Sunday Night Football matchup and are therefore out this week.
Based on a report from Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, there was a disagreement between Gronkowski's camp and the team about his availability this week as Gronk's side worries about him returning too early.
With both Gronk and Amendola out, the news is obviously a negative for Tom Brady, who has failed to throw for 300-plus yards in five consecutive regular-season games. Of course, it also means that Julian Edelman, Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson should all continue to get plenty of targets.
