Week 4 NFL Picks Against the Spread (Yanotchko)
Here are my Week 4 NFL picks against the spread:
Baltimore Ravens -3 (over Buffalo Bills)
So far this year, the Ravens have made winning ugly, but they are 2-1 at the end of the day and just came off a quality win against Houston.
The Bills have stumbled out of the gate at 1-2, and even though the Jets were penalized for 1,000 yards (or so it seemed), they managed to lose 27-20.
Even though the Ravens have lost Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Paul Kruger, they have not missed a beat when it comes to defense. The Ravens feature the fourth-ranked defense against the rush as they only allow 74.7 yards per game and 3.4 yards per carry.
Baltimore will neutralize Buffalo's ground game, as the Bills love to feature Fred Jackson and the very slow starting C.J. Spiller. I also like the matchup of Joe Flacco going against the 19th-ranked pass defense that gives up 262 yards per game and has allowed six touchdowns.
If I am only laying 3 for the defending Super Bowl champs, well that is 3 points I will gladly give.

Seattle Seahawks -2 (over Houston Texans)
Seattle has had a remarkable start to the season, as they are both 3-0 in the league, and also a perfect 3-0 against the spread. While the Texans have started strong at 2-1, they have been miserable against the number, as the are 0-3 on the year.
Houston was stymied last week against Baltimore, as they were shut down on the ground, and Matt Schaub didn't have a particularly good day through the air either. This week doesn't get any easier for the Texans, as they play our consensus No. 1 team in the league. The Seahawks have the best pass defense as well as they allow only 53 percent completion, 147 yards per game, and they have five interceptions on the year.
Seattle is a much better team overall, and they will be able to shut down the the Texans ground game just like the Ravens did last week. I am really liking only having to give two points overall here.
Arizona Cardinals +2.5 (over Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are now truly a team in flux, as they have finally announced the benching of Josh Freeman, and will go with rookie Mike Glennon. The Cardinals have had a shaky start at 1-2, and will look to pick up their first road win of the year as they have started at 0-2. Although the Cardinals are at 1-2, they have kept games close, as they are 2-1 against the spread.
The Cardinals do have some edges in this game, as they feature the No. 3 overall rush defense that only gives up 73 yards per game and 3.2 yards per carry. This means that the Cards will be able to blunt Doug Martin, and force the rookie QB to beat they through the air. Arizona also has an advantage in this department as well, as they feature one of the best cornerbacks in the game in Patrick Peterson, and also Tampa's top two wideouts in Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams have been hobbled by injuries.
I love the Cardinals on the road this week, as I feel the Buccaneers are starting to implode under Greg Schiano's iron rule, and I don't mind taking that 2.5 points while we are at it.
Five of our contributors make three weekly picks ATS every week and they will be posted here.
