Fantasy Football: Some Waiver-Wire Options Heading into Week 14

Chargers tight end Ladarius Green has had three productive outings in a row and double-digit fantasy points in back-to-back games.

Since Week 11, he has a total of nine receptions for 206 yards and two touchdowns.

While he's an especially good option in dynasty leagues, there's no reason to believe that he can't continue to be productive down the stretch as he has been targeted at least five times in three consecutive games.

Green, who was on last week's waiver-wire list, is still worth adding for his upside in your league(s). That said, he won't appear on this week's list due to my self-imposed rules.

For a player to appear on this list, he needs to satisfy two criteria: (1) he is owned in 50 percent of Yahoo! leagues or less and (2) he was not on last week's waiver-wire list.

Here's a new list of players to consider adding to your fantasy squad (Yahoo! ownership in parenthesis):

QB - Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals (owned in 46 percent of Yahoo! leagues)

In his first seven games of the season, Palmer threw more interceptions (13) than touchdowns (eight), but he has been much better since that point. Over his past five games, he has thrown multiple touchdown passes every week and compiled a 11:4 TD-to-INT ratio during that span. In addition, Palmer has thrown for 300-plus yards in his past three games.

QB - Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears (31 percent)

The Bears have previously said that Cutler is the team's starter once he's healthy and it's possible that he returns this week. If he does, he returns to face an extremely favorable matchup. No team has allowed more fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season than the Cowboys.

In addition, Josh McCown, who was on last week's list and is only owned in 34 percent of leagues, would still be worth adding and starting — if Cutler is unavailable on Monday Night. McCown has thrown for more than 300 yards in back-to-back weeks.

QB - Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tennessee Titans (11 percent)

In his four games as a starter, Fitzpatrick has averaged more than 18 fantasy points per game. Trying to keep up with such a high-powered offense like Denver's this week, the Amish Rifle could be a low-end QB1 this week. The Broncos have allowed 20-plus fantasy points in three consecutive games.

RB - Montee Ball, Denver Broncos (57 percent)

For the second time in three weeks and coincidentally both times against the Chiefs, Ball has scored double-digit fantasy points. On Sunday, Ball carried the ball 13 times for 117 yards, both of which were season highs. Teammate Knowshon Moreno played through a bruised ankle he suffered the previous week, but Ball, the team's second-round pick in 2013, could still be in store for a solid workload down the stretch.

This week, the Broncos will face the Titans, who have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season.

[Note: When I wrote this post last night, Ball's ownership was under 50 percent, but it has since jumped to 57 percent by the time I edited it this morning. Since he's still worth adding, if available, I left him on this week's list.]

RB - Donald Brown, Indianapolis Colts (44 percent)

Before last week's game, news broke that Brown — not Trent Richardson — would get the start and TRich would see his role reduced. From a production standpoint, the move seemed obvious. And for the second time in three weeks, Brown finished with double-digit fantasy points. On the season, Brown is averaging 5.3 yards per carry and he has four touchdowns in his last four games.

RB - Mike Tolbert, Carolina Panthers (30 percent)

Over a six-game span starting in Week 3, Tolbert had a total of six touchdowns. Although he hasn't scored a touchdown over the past four games, Tolbert had his best game during that span with 89 yards from scrimmage as DeAngelo Williams (thigh) was out of the lineup. If Williams sidelined again in Week 13, I'd prefer Tolbert over The Daily Show in deeper leagues.

RB - LeGarrette Blount, New England Patriots (six percent)

With Stevan Ridley inactive on Sunday, it was Blount that led the team in rushing attempts (12) in Week 12. It's unclear if Ridley will be active this week or in future weeks, but especially if he's not, Blount has the potential to get 10-12 carries and the goal-line touches.

WR - Michael Crabtree, San Francisco 49ers (48 percent)

In his first game back from his Achilles injury, Crabtree finished with two receptions for 68 yards (including a 60-yard reception) on four targets. With a breakout season playing with Colin Kaepernick last year, it's easy to imagine things only getting better for Crabtree down the stretch.

WR - Nate Burleson, Detroit Lions (42 percent)

While the games weren't played consecutively, here were Burleson's first four stat lines this season: 6/78, 7/45, 6/116 and 7/77/1. That makes his goose egg in Week 13 all the more surprising, but I expect Burleson to bounce back in Week 14.

In a pass-first offense with Megatron on the other side, Burleson and the Lions receivers will face the league's most generous fantasy defense against the position in Week 14.

WR - Brandon LaFell, Carolina Panthers (31 percent)

With a touchdown in two of his past three games, LaFell is only the team's third option in the passing attack behind Steve Smith and Greg Olsen. That said, he is on pace for career highs across the board: 57/708/7.

WR - Ace Sanders, Jacksonville Jaguars (one percent)

In each of the past three weeks, Sanders has at least 61 receiving yards. During that stretch, he has a total of 20 receptions (on 26 targets) for 189 yards and one rush attempt for four yards.

WR - Andre Holmes, Oakland Raiders (one percent)

Especially if Denarius Moore is unable to go in Week 14, Holmes could be in store for another productive fantasy outing this week. Against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, the six-foot-four Holmes, who was once on the Cowboys' practice squad, had a career-best game with seven catches for 136 yards on 11 targets, all of which were team highs.

TE - Garrett Graham, Houston Texans (35 percent)

It appears that Owen Daniels' return won't be Week 14 as he had previously hoped. Facing the Jaguars, who have allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends, Graham could be in store for a productive week although he had just 5/32 in his first matchup against them two weeks ago.

TE - Anthony Fasano, Kansas City Chiefs (two percent)

In his past three games, Fasano has 11 receptions for only 86 yards. That said, he has also had a touchdown reception in each of those games, which means that he has scored at least eight fantasy points in three consecutive games.

This week, the Chiefs face the Redskins, who have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points and nine touchdowns to tight ends on the season.
