Week 14 NFL Picks Against the Spread (Beazley)

Here are my Week 14 NFL picks against the spread:

Denver Broncos -13 (over Tennessee Titans)

John Fox returns to the sidelines to coach this week vs. Tennessee and I think his emotional return will be huge for the Broncos on Sunday.

Tennessee has a good pass defense on paper, but they are vulnerable against the pass, mainly in the middle of the field where I expect to see a lot of Julius Thomas, and a lot of underneath stuff to Wes Welker. In fantasy terms, Welker has put up stinkers in his last few games, just like Eric Decker did before his monster game last week. Peyton Manning is very good about spreading the ball around, and I expect it to be Welker's turn on Sunday.

Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Titans offense should be able to move the ball against this Broncos defense, especially with TE Delanie Walker expected to return from injury. The Titans offense was absolutely lost without him after he left last week's game vs. the Colts. Fitzpatrick is a very sneaky play for 300 yards and 2+ TDs on Sunday, plus he is a threat to run the ball as well.

I love Denver at home in this one, and I absolutely love the over of 49 as well. I think Denver could hang 50 against the Titans. Broncos roll 49-24.

[Editor's note: Sean is a die-hard Titans fan.]

Green Bay Packers -3.5 (over Atlanta Falcons)

With Aaron Rodgers been ruled out for this game, it doesn't thrill me considering he is my starting QB in two of my fantasy leagues where I am in the playoffs. If this were last year's Packers team, I would write them off completely. But this year, they actually have a ground game and I expect Eddie Lacy to have a huge game on Sunday. He will finish as a top-three fantasy RB this week with over 100 yards and multiple touchdowns.

[See Sean's Week 14 fantasy rankings here.]

Atlanta has been struggling all year, and the loss of Julio Jones has especially has been brutal for Matt Ryan. Ryan was projected by many as a potential MVP candidate this year, but he definitely has fallen short this season. While he enters Sunday as the QB with the 5th-most passing yards in the NFL, but that is pretty much because the Falcons defense is so bad. The Falcons are the 29th-ranked scoring defense in the NFL giving up 28.3 points per game.

I'll take the Packers here, 27-17.

New Orleans Saints -3 (over Carolina Panthers)

This is going to be a great game on Sunday night. This game could decide who will get that very important No. 2 seed, and a first-round bye although these two teams meet again in Week 16. That would be huge as the division winner will not have to face the powerhouse Seahawks until the NFC Championship game as the other team will likely get the No. 5 seed in the NFC.

The Panthers have owned this series ATS going 11-1 in their last 12 meetings in New Orleans. That is very impressive. This spread is a little bit different though as it is only a field goal. I think the Saints defense is better than it showed this past week vs. Seattle, and I think Cam Newton will struggle a bit in this one.

New Orleans' Drew Brees gets back on track at home where he always plays well and throws at least three TDs against a very good Panthers defense. I like the Saints at home by 10, 26-16.

Five of our contributors make three weekly picks ATS every week and they will be posted here.
