Week 16 NFL Picks Against the Spread (Yanotchko)
Here are my Week 16 NFL picks against the spread:
Dallas Cowboys -3 (over Washington Redskins)
The Cowboys come into this game desperately needing the win in order to keep their playoff hopes alive and well. Even though he threw two picks at the end of last week's game, Tony Romo is a great quarterback and he should be able to handle a Washington secondary that allows 252 yards per game, and 26 touchdowns on the year.
Even if the Cowboys will be conservative in game planning, I love DeMarco Murray going up against a Redskins defense that allows 111 yards per game, 4.0 yards per carry, and a league-high 21 rushing TDs as well.
The Cowboys really need the W here, and it seems in Washington that it's a foregone conclusion that coach Shanahan is gone, so I will lay the 3 points here as Washington is just playing out the string.

Minnesota Vikings +9 (over Cincinnati Bengals)
Say what you want about the chances for Vikings coach Leslie Frazier to keep his job, but he certainly has the Vikings up every week and playing hard. The Vikings are on a covering tear, as they have been able to cover four games in a row, and improve their record to 8-6 against the spread.
Since Matt Cassel took over for Christian Ponder, he has been getting great results out of wideouts Cordarrelle Patterson and Greg Jennings. I do like the matchup of Cassel coming off a 380-yard passing day, going against a banged up Bengals secondary that allows 220 yards per game and 20 touchdowns on the year.
I don't think that the Vikings will win this game outright, but they will get a lift from getting Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart back, and they have the game to hang close with Cincy. I will take the 8.5 points here, as I know Minnesota will keep it close.
Buffalo Bills +3 (over Miami Dolphins)
Is this the classic trap game? Miami heading up to Buffalo, after a huge divison win against the Patriots, having their own playoff destiny in their hand, and now all they have to do is beat lowly Buffalo and backup quarterback Thad Lewis?
This game will be difficult for Miami, as I love the strength of the Buffalo's offense going right up against the Dolphins main weakness in defending the run. The Bills love to pound the rock, as they average 138 yards rushing per game and 4.2 yards per carry. The Dolphins, on the other hand, allow 117 yards per game, and 4.2 yards per carry, and I love C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson getting the best in this matchup.
Also, don't sleep on the Bills pass defense, as they are ranked 6th overall in the league, No. 1 with 49 sacks, and no QB has been dropped more this year than Miami's Ryan Tannehill. I am taking the small dog at home here, as Buffalo will play spoiler.
Five of our contributors make three weekly picks ATS every week and they will be posted here.
