Fantasy Football Average Draft Position (ADP): Biggest Weekly Movers (June 30th update)

Every Monday, we will post an update in players that have had the biggest moves — both up and down — in fantasy football average draft position (ADP) from the previous week.

With this information, we can get a better sense of the collective perceptions of fantasy football owners (mock drafters). If a player is moving up the ADP chart, it may lead us to using a higher pick than his current ADP to make sure we secure a targeted player.

Of course, a player's ADP (and movement) is just one (small) piece in determining who to draft and our strategy used to assemble a fantasy roster.

For purposes of our study, we will use 14-team ADP data from Fantasy Football Calculator. While most may play in 12-team leagues, using ADP data from 14-team leagues provides data on more players.

Here are the 10 biggest risers over the past week:

Some notes about the changes in ADP:

  • No player has moved up more than Dolphins running back Lamar Miller (ADP: 85.1) since June 16th (121.7 ADP) and no running back has slipped more than teammate Knowshon Moreno (64.1 to 78.2). Even though Moreno still has a lower ADP than Miller, I would expect that to change by next week.
  • Browns running back Ben Tate has dropped by at least five spots in each of the past two weeks (38.9 to 44.3 to 50.0) while teammate Terrance West has improved by at least five spots in each of the past two weeks (95.5 to 88.2 to 83.2).
  • Aside from Miller, no player has moved up more than Eagles rookie receiver Jordan Matthews since June 16th (-17.2 change in ADP).
  • Of the players that had an undrafted ADP on June 23rd, Colts tight end Coby Fleener (ADP: 171.9) was highest among all QB/RB/WR/TE this week. Among those with an undrafted status, free-agent TE Jermichael Finley (ADP: 182.6 on 6/23) had the highest ADP last week.
