Knowshon Moreno to have knee surgery this week, miss 4-5 weeks
ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted today that he will have the surgery this week and miss four to five weeks.
While he should be ready for Week 1, this won't help with Moreno's (lack of) conditioning that had kept him with the second or third team during OTAs this offseason.
When Moreno initially signed with the Dolphins, it seemed much more likely that he would start over Lamar Miller, who failed to break out last year like many had expected. More than likely, however, Miller, the biggest ADP riser over the past week, is likely to be the opening day starter with the opportunity to run with that role in the team's new up-tempo offense.
More worrisome for the Dolphins, they will be without center Mike Pouncey for at least three months after undergoing hip surgery on Monday. That means the Dolphins will begin the season with five new starting offensive linemen.
