Fantasy Football Poll: Will Pierre Thomas exceed last year's career high of 77 receptions?
While Thomas led the Saints running backs in receptions, he was one of the team's two 70-catch running backs as Darren Sproles had 71 receptions as well.
The Saints duo were two of five running backs that had 70-plus receptions, but none had more than Thomas. San Diego's Danny Woodhead (76), Chicago's Matt Forte (74) and Kansas City's Jamaal Charles (70) are the other three running backs that reached the 70-catch threshold last season as well.
With Sproles being traded this offseason to the Eagles, Thomas is the clear favorite to lead the team's running backs in receptions in 2014 even if he finishes third on the team in carries behind Mark Ingram and Khiry Robinson.
Appearing on my list of 12 undervalued fantasy football options based on ADPs, Thomas is No. 14 in my PPR running back rankings and No. 27 in my standard-scoring running back rankings.
In my fantasy running back projections, I project Thomas to barely exceed last year's career high with 78 catches. Will Thomas exceed last year's career high of 77 catches in 2014? Will he lead the league's running backs in catches again?
