2017 NFL Mock Draft - Kansas City Chiefs Mock Draft

- Updated: Monday, April 24th

On this page, you will find all of our picks for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Mock Draft from Kevin Hanson.

Here are the picks in our 2017 NFL Mock Draft for the Chiefs:

1.2727Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech
The anti-Alex Smith, if you will, Mahomes has as much arm talent as any quarterback in this year's draft class with a gunslinger mentality and willingness to challenge defenses down the field. The son of an ex-MLB pitcher, Mahomes has the ability to make something out of nothing and that's arguably his biggest strength.

Smith has been a great regular-season quarterback for the Chiefs as the team has posted a 41-20 record in his 61 regular-season starts. On the other hand, they are 1-3 in his four playoff games and he has thrown for 190, 246 and 172 yards, respectively, in his past three playoff games. I have faith in Smith leading the Chiefs into the playoffs but much less faith in his ability to lead the team to go on a deep playoff run.

2.2759Fabian Moreau, CB, UCLA
With All-Pro cornerback Marcus Peters on one side, the Chiefs could use an upgrade on the opposite side. After tearing his pectoral muscle at UCLA's Pro Day, it's possible that Moreau slips to the late-second or third round, but he should be ready at some point this season, perhaps as early as September.

3.2791DeMarcus Walker, DE, Florida State
3.40104Anthony Walker, ILB, Northwestern
4.25132Vincent Taylor, DT, Oklahoma State
5.26170Connor Harris, LB, Lindenwood
5.36180Chad Williams, WR, Grambling
6.32216Montae Nicholson, S, Michigan State
6.34218Grover Stewart, DT, Albany State
7.27245DeAngelo Yancey, WR, Purdue
