2017 NFL Mock Draft - New Orleans Saints Mock Draft

- Updated: Monday, April 24th

On this page, you will find all of our picks for the New Orleans Saints in the 2017 NFL Mock Draft from Kevin Hanson.

Here are the picks in our 2017 NFL Mock Draft for the Saints:

1.1111Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State
Ranking last in the NFL in pass defense in 2016, the Saints are likely to invest plenty of draft capital on shoring up their defense. If college teammate Lattimore tops this cornerback draft class, you could argue that Conley is the second best in this deep and talented group. In fact, some might feel Conley is a safer pick due to Lattimore's history of hamstring issues. With good length (6-0 with 33-inch arms) and athleticism (4.44 forty and 37-inch vertical), Conley has started every game over the past two seasons and intercepted four passes in 2016.

1.3232Obi Melifonwu, S, Connecticut
Testing off the charts at the NFL Scouting Combine, Melifonwu is a 6-foot-4, 224-pound safety prospect that ran a 4.40 forty with a 44-inch vertical. A four-year starter with UConn, Melifonwu has experience at both safety and cornerback, led the team with 118 tackles in 2016 and had a total of eight interceptions over his career. Not only did the Saints release Jairus Byrd this offseason, but Kenny Vaccaro will be a free agent after the 2017 season.

2.1042Carl Lawson, DE, Auburn
Struggling with injuries in the previous two seasons, Lawson had 8.5 sacks for the Tigers in 2016. Lawson would make sense here as the Saints could use a pass-rush upgrade/complement opposite Cam Jordan.

3.1276Dede Westbrook, WR, Oklahoma
3.39103Bucky Hodges, TE, Virginia Tech
6.12196Charles Walker, DT, Oklahoma
7.11229Hunter Dimick, DE, Utah
