2015 Fantasy Football: Week 16 Fantasy Quarterback Rankings

Before the season began, it would have been impossible to imagine the Steelers being favored by more than 10 points over the Ravens, on the road, in Week 16.

Not only have the Ravens suffered an inordinate amount of injuries, but the Steelers offense is firing on all cylinders with six consecutive 30-point outings and they get a matchup against an exploitable Ravens secondary.

Against the league's stingiest pass defense, Ben Roethlisberger threw for 380 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday afternoon. In fact, it was the first 300-yard game allowed by the Broncos this season.

Over his past six games, Big Ben has averaged 365.83 passing yards per game with 13 pass touchdowns. During that six-game span, Roethlisberger has scored at least 21 fantasy points in five games.

Heading into Championship Week, the Ravens have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.

No QB has more fantasy points through Week 15 than Cam

Sunday's game turned out to be closer than expected after the Panthers nearly squandered a 35-7 lead, but Cam Newton finished as the week's top-scoring fantasy quarterback in Week 15.

It was Newton's fourth overall QB1 outing in his past seven games. During that seven-game span, he has actually finished as a top-six option in all but one game.

Completing 25-of-45 pass attempts, Newton threw for a season-high 340 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed eight times for a season-high 100 yards.

It was the third time in five games that Newton has thrown five touchdown passes in a game.

On the season, Newton has thrown for 3,402 yards, 33 touchdowns with 10 interceptions and rushed 119 times for 580 yards and seven touchdowns. That marks his record-breaking (of his own record) fifth consecutive season with at least 3,000 passing yards and 500 rushing yards.

The list of quarterbacks that have scored more fantasy points than Newton this season include, well, nobody. The top three heading into Week 16 are Newton (342.08), Tom Brady (327.3) and Russell Wilson (295.72).

Newton and the Panthers will face the Falcons for a second time in three weeks. Against Atlanta in Week 14, Newton threw for 265 yards and three touchdowns.

Cousins: Top-10 Week 16 QB, Owned in ~25% of Leagues

Washington's Kirk Cousins and the team, in general, have played well at home and he threw for 319 yards, four touchdowns and ran in another score in Sunday's win over the Bills.

In Week 15, only Newton (41.6) scored more fantasy points than Cousins (35.86).

Over his past eight games, Cousins has averaged 21.15 fantasy points per game with three top-two outings and five top-10 performances. During that eight-game span, he has averaged slightly more than 275 passing yards per game with 20 touchdowns (16 passing and four rushing) and only three interceptions.

While Cousins plays better at home, he gets an ideal matchup in Week 16, even if it's on the road.

Through Week 15, only the Saints and Giants have allowed more fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks than the Eagles. In their past seven games combined, the Eagles have allowed 21 total touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks.

Available in roughly three-quarters of Yahoo! leagues, Cousins was the top recommended add in my Week 16 fantasy football waiver-wire post.
