Week 10 NFL Picks Against the Spread (Hanson)

Here are my Week 10 NFL picks against the spread:

Green Bay Packers +1 (over Philadelphia Eagles)

There is clearly a huge downgrade at quarterback for the Packers with Seneca Wallace starting in place Aaron Rodgers, who is expected to miss at least three games with his broken collarbone injury.

That said, I'm not sure that his loss should turn the Packers into home underdogs against the Eagles, who have a losing record (4-5).

Not only do they have some talented receivers such as Jordy Nelson and James Jones, but the Packers have run the ball well with rookie Eddie Lacy. Over the past five weeks, Lacy has more carries (119) and rushing yards (545) than any other back this season.

While the Eagles have put up a ton of points last week fueled by Nick Foles' seven touchdown passes, they have been inconsistent this season. With Wallace getting the first-team reps during practice this week, I expect a better offensive output from the Packers and to win at home over the up-and-down Eagles.

Baltimore Ravens +1 (over Cincinnati Bengals)

It's been a disappointing season for the Ravens on many fronts this season.

After winning the Super Bowl, the Ravens are 3-5 and on a three-game losing streak. They are still tough at M&T Bank Stadium, however, and are 2-1 at home this season with their only loss there to the Packers by two points.

Offensively the Ravens have really struggled and the duo of Ray Rice (2.67 yards per carry) and Bernard Pierce (2.71 YPC) are both averaging less than three yards per carry.

This game is probably more of a hunch than anything as I expect the Ravens to end their slide at home.

New York Giants -7.5 (over Oakland Raiders)

Typically, I prefer to pick teams that are either underdogs at home (see first two picks) or teams coming off a bye.

Not only are the Giants coming off of their bye, but they looked like a different team in their two games (and only wins) before the bye. In addition to that momentum, the Giants will get back running back Andre Brown, who should provide a lift to their rushing attack.

Just as Foles won't throw seven TDs again this week, I don't expect Eli Manning to throw seven TDs against last week's victim, I mean opponent. But it's hard not to like his matchup and that of receivers Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks and Rueben Randle against the Raiders secondary.

With the Saints hosting the Cowboys on Sunday night, the Giants have the opportunity to narrow the gap in the NFC Least.

Five of our contributors make three weekly picks ATS every week and they will be posted here.
