NFL Poll: Who will win Super Bowl XLVIII?

In a matchup of No. 1 seeds, the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks will face off in Super Bowl XLVIII in New Jersey on February 2nd.

Despite both teams having home-field advantage throughout their respective conference's playoffs, a matchup of No. 1 seeds is surprisingly rare. In fact, this is only the second time it's happened since the Cowboys and Bills met in the Super Bowl in 1993.

To me, the thing that makes this year's Super Bowl matchup so great is that it features the high-powered Broncos offense against the stingy Seahawks defense. While the Broncos ranked first in the league in total offense and scoring offense, the Seahawks ranked first in both total defense and scoring defense.

As Peyton Manning looks to get his second Super Bowl in the home stadium for his brother, he has the league's best supporting cast of skill-position players in the league. As impressively as it was for Manning to set single-season records in yards and touchdowns previously held by Drew Brees and Tom Brady, respectively, I think it's even more impressive that the team had five players score double-digit touchdowns.

Four of their players caught double-digit touchdowns — Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Wes Welker and Julius Thomas — and Knowshon Moreno rushed for double-digit touchdowns. Manning's ability to get a read on opposing defenses before the snap helps ensure, more often than not, that the team is in a play that maximizes success.

That said, the Seahawks don't necessarily do anything exotic on the defensive side of the ball. Loaded with talent on all three levels (and especially so in the secondary), it comes down to execution from the Seahawks. The Legion of Boom features three players that are either first or second team All-Pro (see full list) with cornerback Richard Sherman and safeties Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor.

Based on early odds from Sportsbook.com, the Broncos are favored by three points and the over/under for the game is 48.0 points, but those lines will vary some by sports book.

Regardless of spread, who will win Super Bowl XLVIII? What's your final-score prediction? (Vote in the poll above and/or leave your score predictions in the comments below.)
