2014 NFL Power Rankings: Week 10

Here are my Week 10 NFL power rankings:

1. New England Patriots - Record: 7-2, Last Update: No. 8

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has now started 200 games and has a 155-45 record. According to Elias Sports, no other player won more than 136 of his first 200 starts.

2. Arizona Cardinals - Record: 7-1, Last Update: No. 6

Averaging 22.63 touches per game, second-year running back Andre Ellington is on pace a total of 1,784 yards from scrimmage. If he finishes with 1,700-plus YFS, he will become only the second Cardinals running back to do so. The other, Ottis Anderson, did so with the (St. Louis) Cardinals four times (1979, 1981, 1983 and 1984).

3. Denver Broncos - Record: 6-2, Last Update: No. 1

While Peyton Manning and the Broncos are coming off a tough loss to Brady and the Patriots, the Broncos are 6-2 at the midway point of the season and on pace for 12 wins. If the Broncos win 12 games, Manning will have won at least 12 games in 10 of 11 seasons (in which he has played). The other season he played and fell short, the Colts were 10-6. (The season he didn't play, they were 2-14.)

4. Detroit Lions - Record: 6-2, Last Update: No. 10

In the past, the Lions secondary could be exploited. The Lions are on the only team in the league to have allowed single-digit passing touchdowns (nine) this season and currently allow the fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks and wide receivers.

5. Philadelphia Eagles - Record: 6-2, Last Update: No. 4

Obviously, the big news with the Eagles is the loss of Nick Foles (clavicle), but Jeremy Maclin has been lights out and is positioned to cash in big time following his one-year deal. Maclin has 18/345/4 over his past two games and is now on pace for 90 receptions for 1,580 yards and 16 touchdowns.

6. Indianapolis Colts - Record: 6-3, Last Update: No. 3

Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has 3,085 yards through his first nine games of the season. The only quarterback to ever have more yards through the first nine games of a season was Peyton Manning last year and he ended up setting the single-season record in 2013.

7. Pittsburgh Steelers - Record: 6-3, Last Update: No. 15

Two weeks ago, Ben Roethlisberger became the first quarterback with multiple 500-yard passing games in a career. Last week, Big Ben became the first to throw for six touchdowns in back-to-back games. What's next?

8. Dallas Cowboys - Record: 6-3, Last Update: No. 2

Early signs point to Tony Romo (back) starting in London against the Jaguars this week. One of the few things that the Jags do well is rush the passer. Their 27 sacks is tied for third in the NFL. Considering the team has a bye in Week 11, is starting Romo the right move? We will find out.

9. Green Bay Packers - Record: 5-3, Last Update: No. 5

Even though Jordy Nelson leads the Packers in receptions (50) and receiving yards (737), Randall Cobb leads them in touchdown receptions (nine). In fact, no wide receiver has more than him through Week 9 and tight end Julius Thomas (10) is the only player that has more.

- Poll: Will Cobb score a touchdown in his sixth consecutive game?

10. Seattle Seahawks - Record: 5-3, Last Update: No. 12

The Seahawks defense started slow and they are not as stingy as they were last season, but they currently rank fourth in the NFL in total defense (304.9 YPG). They rank fourth in rushing defense and sixth in passing defense.

11. Miami Dolphins - Record: 5-3, Last Update: No. 13

Fueled by a top-three defense, the Dolphins currently rank fourth in points differential and scoring differential. The last time they ranked in the top four in both categories was the 1984 season, the last time the Dolphins made it to the Super Bowl.

12. San Francisco 49ers - Record: 4-4, Last Update: No. 11

Like last year, the 49ers started the season 1-2. If the 49ers lose to the Saints (and they are currently 5.5-point underdogs), it will mark the latest point in the season that the 49ers have had a sub-.500 record in the Jim Harbaugh era. In addition, the have yet to lose more than four games in a season under Harbaugh.

13. Cincinnati Bengals - Record: 5-2-1, Last Update: No. 18

Regardless of what happens in tonight's Bengals-Browns game, some things are more important than football. The Bengals will make a donation of more than $1.3 million to fight pediatric cancer with money raised from the sale of Devon Still jerseys in between the first and second quarter. #LeahStrong

14. Kansas City Chiefs - Record: 5-3, Last Update: No. 14

The Chiefs currently allow 0.29 points per play. The only teams with a ratio better (or as good) are the Lions (.260) and the Dolphins (.290).

15. Buffalo Bills - Record: 5-3, Last Update: No. 17

The Bills rank fourth in the NFL in turnover differential per game (+0.9). And with a +6 differential in their last game against the Jets, the Bills have the best turnover differential on the road (+2.5/G).

16. Baltimore Ravens - Record: 5-4, Last Update: No. 9

GM Ozzie Newsome loves to draft ex-Alabama players, but C.J. Mosley has proven to be a huge bargain in the middle of the first round. The rookie linebacker ranks third in the NFL in tackles (85) and has two interceptions, a forced fumble and six passes defensed (second among all linebackers).
