Cleveland Browns Mock Draft Roundup 2.0
Throughout the year and leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, we will update our Cleveland Browns Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the Cleveland Browns from several prominent sites and draft analysts.
The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Browns:
2. Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
The top two teams picking in this draft both need a quarterback, but I still suspect the Titans and Browns will take a similar approach: grab the best player available. There are other ways to find a QB, but there is only one Hunter.
2. Cam Ward, QB, Miami (FL)
Cleveland may or may not be interested in one of the top quarterbacks, either. I believe it would be more inclined to consider Cam Ward at this stage of the process than Shedeur Sanders. Ward becomes the heir apparent to Deshaun Watson.
2. Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State
Despite an obvious need at QB, the Browns opt to pair Carter with Myles Garrett to give the defense a dynamic duo on the edges.
2. Cam Ward, QB, Miami (FL)
The Browns are in a tough spot with Deshaun Watson's contract looming large for the next few years, but they can at least give themselves an opportunity to move on at quarterback rather quickly with the selection of Ward. He's a gunslinger and a player who will try to make the most of whatever the defense offers up — which ends up in mistakes sometimes. Still, he has the aggressive style to end up as a high quality NFL passer. — Charles McDonald

2. Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
After the financial and emotional anchor ownership put on management with the lengthy Deshaun Watson contract, the Browns need a jolt. Normally, a quarterback would make sense, but perhaps not with the Watson situation still unsettled.
In this case, the Browns would have two of the NFL's best athletes: Hunter and defensive end Myles Garrett. So, which position will Hunter play in the NFL? It doesn't matter. The Heisman Trophy winner will see some action on both sides of the ball before reaching his All-Pro potential at one of them.

2. Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State
It's unclear whether Deshaun Watson (Achilles, contract), the latest example in Cleveland's well-documented struggles to find a franchise quarterback, will even play in 2025 after reinjuring his Achilles and playing (mostly poorly) in 19 starts over the past three years. Will they use this pick on Shedeur Sanders (despite Deion not wanting his son to play there)? While they may not care about Deion's feelings, that could be shared to entice others (Giants, Raiders or another team) to trade up so the Browns can "maximize [this pick] in another way."
If it's not a quarterback, this pick will come down to Carter or Colorado's Travis Hunter. As unique and talented as college football's ironman may be, you could make the case that Carter is the top prospect regardless of position in this class. The explosive edge rusher finished with 12 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss in his first season as a full-time edge defender after converting from off-ball linebacker. Pairing Carter with Myles Garrett will lead to many sleepless nights for opposing quarterbacks.

2. Will Campbell, OT, LSU
Cleveland is another team in the quarterback market but has some loose ends that may prove difficult to tie together and justify a top draft choice in a shaky QB market. This team's foundation has deteriorated over the past two seasons—the Browns have been known for stout offensive line play and a strong running game. The 2025 offseason threatens both. If the Browns also choose to bypass the quarterback market for a veteran, securing a position-flexible mauler in the trenches feels very "Cleveland."
2. Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Quarterback is in play here for the Browns, but in this scenario, they pick Hunter, the Heisman Trophy-winning two-way star. I'm in the minority as someone who prefers him as a full-time offensive player who moonlights on defense.
2. Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
Know how I just said the Titans had the league's second-worst QBR and INT total? Well, the Browns were the worst in both categories. Deshaun Watson also retore his right Achilles and Jameis Winston is a free agent, so taking Sanders isn't out of the question. But I think Cleveland is more likely to address another hole here and find QB reinforcements in free agency and/or later in the draft. (Trading back for more picks with another QB-needy team could be part of the equation, too.)
Plus, Hunter is just that good. I see elite quickness and ball skills on both sides of the ball, traits that helped him to 15 touchdown catches and four interceptions this season. The Browns would likely use him primarily at receiver and then sprinkle him in at cornerback in specific situations.
