New Orleans Saints Mock Draft Roundup 2.0

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, we will update our New Orleans Saints Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the New Orleans Saints from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Saints:

NFL.com — Eric Edholm

9. Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

I don't quite view the big-bodied McMillan as top-five material, even in this WR1-starved draft class, but he'd check a lot of boxes for the Saints' offense.

CBS Sports — Josh Edwards

9. Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia

Chase Young is scheduled to hit free agency in a few months. New Orleans does not yet have a head coach so it is unclear which direction the organization will take in the future, but Mykel Williams is a good, young talent to develop.

NFL.com — Bucky Brooks

9. Jalon Walker, EDGE/LB, Georgia

The Saints' defense needs an infusion of young, athletic talent. Walker's speed and explosiveness could make him a big-play specialist as a pro.

Yahoo! — Tice/McDonald

9. Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia

Chase Young and Payton Turner are free agents and Cameron Jordan is on the back nine of his career. Williams' length and tools gives him one of the highest upsides of any player in this draft class. He still needs time to tap into that upside, but there were strong glimpses and stretches this season after Williams returned from an ankle injury. On a Saints franchise without a head coach and with holes and decisions to make at essentially every position, Williams will almost certainly get the playing time to hone his talent.

The Athletic — Baumgardner/Dochterman

9. Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia

Production has not matched talent to this point, but Williams has top-five traits — not unlike former Georgia (and current Jacksonville) standout Travon Walker, who was the No. 1 pick in 2022. Williams is a projection as much as anything right now, but if he tests off the charts, he might not make it this far.

EDSFootball — Kevin Hanson

9. Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia

The Saints have used top-40 picks on edge defenders Payton Turner (five sacks in 31 career games) and Isaiah Foskey (zero sacks in 27 games). Williams pass-rush production has been underwhelming, but he is an outstanding run defender. The former five-star recruit has the traits — size, length, strength and athleticism — to develop into a better pass rusher at the next level.

The 33rd Team — Kyle Crabbs

9. Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M

The Saints struggle to find the right fit for their head coaching position. The team saw Joe Brady withdraw his name after Aaron Glenn chose the Jets instead. But regardless of who takes the role, the Saints are a team that needs to get back to basics. The trench depth has suffered due to cap restraints and aging veterans — and few players are more physically talented in this year's class than Texas A&M's Shemar Stewart. This is a supersized elite athlete with ample upside.

NFL.com — Daniel Jeremiah

9. Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia

The Saints continue to add young, athletic players to their defensive front. Williams played hurt all season long, but his tools are exceptional.

ESPN — Mel Kiper

9. Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Johnson -- who reads the QB incredibly well and has the quickness to finish plays with takeaways -- could be the Marshon Lattimore replacement in New Orleans. Johnson had nine interceptions over his career at Michigan. The Saints seemingly always find their way out of their salary cap issues, but they are projected to be $70.6 million over the cap in 2025, per Roster Management System. They have to find Day 1 starters in the draft, and Johnson would fill a big hole. New Orleans allowed 7.3 yards per pass attempt this season, ranking 23rd in the league.
