JC Latham — NFL Mock Draft Roundup 2.0
Leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft, we will track where Alabama Crimson Tide offensive tackle JC Latham appears in the latest NFL mock drafts.
JC Latham NFL Mock Drafts
Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which Latham has appeared:
#21 overall, Miami Dolphins
Terron Armstead said he'll play in 2024, but the 5-time Pro Bowl tackle will turn 33 years old in July and has only averaged 10 starts per season during his career (not counting his rookie campaign). History says the injury-prone Armstead will again deal with issues in 2024, so JC Latham would not be a massive (literally) insurance policy, but he could battle Austin Jackson for the starting right tackle spot.
#21 overall, Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins' starting tackles appear set, although depth is needed. They also could cross-train Latham at guard and have him take over at tackle down the road. He's a worthy prospect in this spot and good value for Miami's first first-rounder since Jaylen Waddle and Jaelan Phillips in 2021.
#13 overall, Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders add some real muscle to the trenches in Latham, a 6-foot-6, 342-pound people mover who can drop in at right tackle from day one. Opposite Kolton Miller, the former Alabama product gives Las Vegas the potential to bookend their offensive line with top-tier talent, which should help the team establish the type of smashmouth offensive identity that head coach Antonio Pierce surely wants.
#22 overall, Philadelphia Eagles
Eagles GM Howie Roseman does a great job of thinking ahead to avoid leaving the cupboard bare at any position. Lane Johnson is still a Pro Bowl right tackle, but the selection of Latham gives legendary OL coach Jeff Stoutland time to get this tower of power ready to one day succeed Johnson.
#18 overall, Cincinnati Bengals
They need to get a long-term answer at right tackle and JC Latham is a perfect fit. He is a big, power player who will give them a nice right tackle even after they signed Trent Brown to a one-year deal.
#21 overall, Miami Dolphins
Salary cap concerns have forced the Dolphins to remake their the offensive line, and Latham could fit well. He's a handful for defensive linemen at 343 pounds and has excellent grip strength. Latham was a two-year starter at right tackle for Alabama (two sacks allowed) but has the potential to play either tackle or guard in the pros; he would likely push right guard Robert Jones out of the starting lineup as a rookie.
#7 overall, Tennessee Titans
The Titans signed Lloyd Cushenberry at center but cut tackle Andre Dillard. They also gave up 64 sacks, tied for fourth-most in the NFL. So I'm targeting Latham here; he gave up two career sacks over 41 games (27 starts) at Alabama. He takes too many penalties (17 over the past two seasons), but OL coach Bill Callahan would surely address that in his rookie minicamp. I would keep Latham on the right side, where his 6-6, 342-pound size and strength should allow him to thrive.
#13 overall, Las Vegas Raiders
The 6-foot-6, 335-pound Latham is an athletic force in pass protection who jumps straight into the starting lineup. There is always the smell of desperation among teams coveting a quarterback fix. Signing Gardner Minshew gives the Raiders a viable starter, but seeking more help isn't out of the question.
