Leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, we will track where Marshall Thundering Herd edge defender Mike Green appears in the latest NFL mock drafts.

Mike Green NFL Mock Drafts

Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which Green has appeared:

NFL.com — Eric Edholm

No. 28 overall — Detroit Lions

I was both pleased and irritated that DJ and Bucky each mocked Green to the Lions, because it just feels perfect right now. He has a Lions-y intensity and can be worked into the rotation early.

NFL.com — Bucky Brooks

No. 28 overall — Detroit Lions

The lack of a pass rush down the stretch could prompt general manager Brad Holmes to invest heavily in this area, giving Aidan Hutchinson some support once he returns to health. Green is a natural QB hunter with an emerging game.

Yahoo! — Tice/McDonald

No. 28 overall — Detroit Lions

Pass rush, pass rush, pass rush. Mike Green is a quality defender off the edge and has the makings of one of those small school players that ends up in a great spot. Detroit needs some juice along the defensive line and Green joining a fully healthy defensive line would give the Lions a hellacious front.

The Athletic — Baumgardner/Dochterman

No. 23 overall — Green Bay Packers

Green was a 215-pound linebacker/tight end when he left high school. Now a verified 6-3, 251 as of Senior Bowl weigh-in, he still moves like a 215-pounder off the edge — and an explosive one, at that. The FBS sacks leader in 2024 with 17, Green is still a bit untested, but his traits are ridiculous and his workouts will draw crowds. Green and Rashan Gary could be electric together.

EDSFootball — Kevin Hanson

No. 28 overall — Detroit Lions

Detroit's defense was decimated by injuries down the stretch as Aidan Hutchinson led the team in sacks with 7.5 despite playing only five games. No other player exceeded four sacks. Green is an explosive edge rusher with a relentless motor who was highly productive (FBS-high 17 sacks and 22.5 TFLs) at Marshall.

NFL.com — Daniel Jeremiah

No. 28 overall — Detroit Lions

It will be huge for the Lions to get Aidan Hutchinson back next season. Green would be a perfect complement with his speed and quickness off the edge. This team values production off the edge and Green had a ton of it during his college career.

ESPN — Mel Kiper

No. 23 overall — Green Bay Packers

Who knows who was the last first-round pick out of Marshall? You have to go back to 2003, when quarterback Byron Leftwich went No. 7. Leftwich is one of three Marshall first-rounders of the common draft era (since 1967), joining Chad Pennington (2000) and Randy Moss (1998). So it says something that Green could join that group.

Green ranked in the top 10 nationally in sacks (17, first), tackles for loss (22, second) and pressure rate (15.5%, ninth). He wins with speed-to-power, and he displays good bend and strong hands. Despite tying for eighth in sacks (45), the Packers were 22nd in pressure rate (29.8%) and 26th in pass rush win rate (34.8%). This feels like a good fit.
