Tyler Warren — NFL Mock Draft Roundup 1.0

Leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, we will track where Penn State Nittany Lions tight end Tyler Warren appears in the latest NFL mock drafts.

Tyler Warren NFL Mock Drafts

Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which Warren has appeared:

NFL.com — Eric Edholm

No. 5 overall — Jacksonville Jaguars

We're still waiting to see who'll take the GM reins in Jacksonville, but I can imagine new head coach Liam Coen wanting to support Trevor Lawrence with a do-it-all threat at tight end, even if selecting Warren in the top five feels a tad rich to me.

CBS Sports — Josh Edwards

No. 15 overall — Atlanta Falcons

Tyler Warren is going to come as a surprise for some Falcons fans, but Sean McVay had been interested in Brock Bowers a year ago. I think about the type of player that Zac Robinson would want in that offense and Warren comes to mind quickly. I wonder if Kyle Pitts could be available in a trade this offseason.

NFL.com — Bucky Brooks

No. 14 overall — Indianapolis Colts

Adding more playmakers on the perimeter is essential to helping Anthony Richardson reach his potential as a franchise quarterback. Warren is a freak athlete with the athletic measurements and production to tickle GM Chris Ballard's fancy.

Yahoo! — Tice/McDonald

No. 14 overall — Indianapolis Colts

The Colts seem to be sticking with Anthony Richardson for another year, so here's a dynamic athlete at tight end to make his life a little easier. For his size (6-foot-6, 261 pounds), Tyler Warren is one of the most impressive athletes in the country and will open up the playbook for Colts head coach Shane Steichen.

The Athletic — Baumgardner/Dochterman

No. 14 overall — Indianapolis Colts

After completing just 56.3 percent of their passes this season with 20 touchdowns and 19 interceptions, the Colts need something to elevate their passing game.

A tight end is a great friend to a young quarterback such as Anthony Richardson, and there's none better this year than Warren (6-6, 261). This fall, he caught 104 passes for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns. He also was a short-yardage quarterback (218 rushing yards and four more scores plus a passing touchdown). In an overtime win at USC, Warren had 17 receptions for 224 yards.

EDSFootball — Kevin Hanson

No. 14 overall — Indianapolis Colts

What can't Warren do? How about:

  • Snap the ball? ✅
  • Catch a touchdown? ✅
  • On the same play? ✅

That was just one of the 17 receptions for 224 yards and a touchdown Warren had against the USC Trojans. The John Mackey Award recipient finished 2024 with 104 catches for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns, but he's a do-it-all prospect who makes an impact in both the passing and running game.

The 33rd Team — Kyle Crabbs

No. 13 overall — Miami Dolphins

The focus this offseason with Miami lies on the offensive line, but don't be surprised if this team signs one or two starting capable guards in free agency. What you won't find in free agency? A supersized pass catcher who can play in-line and help evolve the Dolphins' offensive identity at tight end. There's plenty of speculation over the future of wide receiver Tyreek Hill in Miami. If the team and Hill part ways, Warren can partner with Jaylen Waddle and Jonnu Smith to give this team a more prominent but dangerous offensive identity.

NFL.com — Daniel Jeremiah

No. 7 overall — New York Jets

Warren is one of my favorite players in this draft. He will be popular with his quarterback and running backs as a difference-making in-line tight end.

ESPN — Mel Kiper

No. 14 overall — Indianapolis Colts

If the Colts want to maximize quarterback Anthony Richardson, they should be adding to his supporting cast this offseason. Warren catches everything, hauling in 104 of his 135 targets this season for 1,233 yards and eight scores. Penn State used him all over the place -- slot, out wide, in-line, in the backfield -- and he produced no matter the alignment. He could slide right into the Colts' lineup, with Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox both set for free agency.

I also considered going cornerback or safety here -- Indy needs both. If Starks is still available, I like that fit. Maybe South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori works his way into the conversation, too. But Warren could be awesome in this offense, and the value is much better.
