Washington Mystics 2025 WNBA Draft Mock Draft Roundup 1.0
Leading up to the 2025 WNBA Draft, we will track which prospects are mocked to the Washington Mystics.
Here are the Washington Mystics selections in some recent mock drafts:
4. Dominique Malonga, France
Holy length, Batman. It's hard not to notice Dominique Malonga's size and wingspan. It's an immediate problem for teams. However, she's so much more than that.
Malonga practically floats like a gazelle in space and can run the floor, which is super impressive. SHE IS SO SMOOTH. Her game is easy to watch because she's a cerebral player who is often two steps ahead of whatever is happening on the floor.
Malonga even has a delicate touch at the rim that will make you want to weep. Did I mention she's a walking double-double? Draft her, Mystics, and don't think twice about it.

6. Sonia Citron, Notre Dame
The thought of Sonia Citron going this low is probably unfathomable for most people. Still, if the Mystics want to make everyone sick, they'll scoop Citron up expeditiously and pretend like this was the plan all along.
So much is made of Citron's teammates, Olivia Miles and Hannah Hidalgo. You might call them peanut butter and jelly. Well, Citron is the bread in the metaphorical sandwich. She does all the little things that often go unnoticed but ties it all together so nicely.
A bucket is needed? She's got it. Someone to save a possession? She can do that. A playmaker? PRESENT. You get the picture. Draft her, too, Mystics, and thank me later.

4. Dominique Malonga, France
It's not entirely clear what's going on in D.C. this offseason, but it seems like they're heading toward a total reset in 2026, and desperately need a centerpiece they can build around. Malonga has the highest upside of any player on the board. Players with her size (6-foot-6) and athleticism are extremely rare, and she's averaging an efficient double-double in EuroCup action as a teenager.
6. Te-Hina Paopao, South Carolina
Again, it's hard to know exactly what the Mystics are looking for, but if they do take Malonga, it makes sense to look for a potential guard of the future -- especially after drafting Shakira Austin and Aaliyah Edwards in recent years. In that case, Paopao should be the pick. She can really shoot the ball -- over 40% on catch-and-shoot 3s in each of her last three seasons -- and has grown as a defender under Gamecocks coach Dawn Staley.
4. Dominique Malonga, France
There are a lot of questions surrounding the Washington Mystics and the direction of the franchise under new general manager Jamila Wideman and head coach Sydney Johnson. The Mystics were inactive during free agency, so this No. 4 pick could be crucial to the franchise's future.
Dominique Malonga is one of the most impressive draft prospects on the board and could easily go higher. Malonga's intangibles and current skill set don't come around very often. At 6'6", the mobile forward has a rare combination of athleticism, speed, length and touch around the rim.
She can face up, attack off the dribble, grab a rebound and advance in the open court like a guard. At just 19 years old, she has barely scratched the surface of her potential and is averaging a double-double at 17.9 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. She's also shooting 57 percent from the floor for LDLC ASVEL Féminin in EuroCup Women this season.

6. Kiki Iriafen, USC
This is getting to the point in the draft where front offices start to look less at glaring needs and more at the best player available—especially with the major expected shifts in free agency one year from now.
I would have a hard time looking past Kiki Iriafen if she were still on the board at No. 6. She could be a great addition for a Washington Mystics team looking to redefine their entire franchise.
While Malonga is a younger developmental pick with stash potential, Iriafen could provide a more immediate impact in year one. She has great length and athleticism around the paint and plays with a power that will translate well to the pro level.
She is aggressive on the glass and generates second-chance points, averaging 8.2 rebounds per game this season. She elevates over opponents, has a nose for the ball and can play in a fast-paced pro system. She has only begun to scratch the surface with her offensive potential, averaging 17.8 points per game this season.

4. Dominique Malonga, France
Malonga, who played for France in the Olympics this summer, is just 19 and could be a draft-and-stash prospect. Or she might be ready to play in the WNBA this season. The Mystics are under a new brain trust with Jamila Wideman as general manager and Sydney Johnson as head coach. There's a lot of rebuilding to do for a team that's likely to have a hard time competing for a playoff spot in 2025. Malonga could be seen as a player to develop for the future.
6. Aneesah Morrow, LSU
Morrow had her 22nd double-double of the season with 13 points and 14 rebounds Thursday as LSU won 71-60 at Missouri. Morrow leads Division I in rebounding at 14.2 per game.
WNBA evaluators seemed to underestimate Morrow's teammate Angel Reese in last year's draft, when she went No. 7 and then averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds. They should keep that in mind with Morrow.
