Pittsburgh Steelers Mock Draft Roundup 2.0
Throughout the year and leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, we will update our Pittsburgh Steelers Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the Pittsburgh Steelers from several prominent sites and draft analysts.
The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Steelers:
21. Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
I don't believe Johnson is the top-10 lock some seem to think he is, with the big corner facing injury and speed questions ahead of the NFL Scouting Combine, but his skill set could bolster Pittsburgh's secondary.
21. Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
Emeka Egbuka would be a great complement to George Pickens in Pittsburgh if Pickens is still around. The long-term quarterback situation would still need to be addressed, but at least that player would have a few competent outlets in the pass game.
21. Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri
The Steelers' pedestrian offense needs more playmakers to keep up with the high-scoring attacks within the division. Burden is a catch-and-run specialist with the crafty playmaking skills to flourish on the perimeter.
21. Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
Outside of a long-term answer at QB, the Steelers desperately need another pass catcher to pair with George Pickens. Egbuka is a coach's dream of a player: He is good at essentially every aspect of playing the receiver position, plays hard, and is an excellent blocker. While the Steelers have shied away from taking receivers in the first round, Egbuka honestly just feels like a Steelers receiver with his ability to play inside and out, along with his sheer toughness that would fit perfectly in Arthur Smith's offense.

21. Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
This might be a little high for Golden, but he's another player who really took advantage of the extended College Football Playoff this year. He was the true star receiver for the Longhorns this season after spending two years at Houston.
Had he not gone off the board a pick earlier, Egbuka would have been an ideal selection for the Steelers.

53. Tyler Shough, QB, Louisville
We probably have too many quarterbacks in Round 2, but this is a weird class and it's hard to say when the inevitable QB run will happen. It's possible Shough goes higher than the QB6 spot he's claimed here.
21. Derrick Harmon, IDL, Oregon
While Cam Heyward is still playing at a high level, he turns 36 in May and won't play forever. Meanwhile, Larry Ogunjobi turns 31 in June and is entering a contract year. With excellent size (6'5" and 310 pounds) and length, Harmon is disruptive and stout at the point of attack with the versatility to line up anywhere along the front.
21. Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
The Steelers' DNA is well established. This team embraces a physical brand of football, and under Mike Tomlin, they will want to play smash-mouth football and run the ball. Najee Harris is set to hit free agency this offseason after four years and nearly 1,300 touches from scrimmage. Resigning him would not be a bad idea, but spending on a running back is always controversial. Instead, Pittsburgh could take advantage of the slide experienced by Ashton Jeanty here to get a fresh workhorse behind their revamped offensive line courtesy of recent draft classes.
21. Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
I don't think the Steelers could go wrong drafting Golden or Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka here. They go with Golden in this case, but they are both professional route runners with outstanding hands and toughness.
21. Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
The last time the Steelers took a receiver in Round 1 was 2006, when they drafted Santonio Holmes at No. 25. But unless things drastically change in free agency, Pittsburgh has to break that streak. There aren't enough reliable pass catchers in this offense. The Steelers don't have a surefire WR2 behind George Pickens, and the offense isn't going to improve until they do something there, no matter the QB.
Egbuka caught six passes for 64 yards in Monday's national championship win, putting him over 1,000 yards on the season (1,011). It was also the second time in the past three years that Egbuka caught double-digit touchdowns (10). He's a great route runner with speed and would eat up targets in the Steelers' offense.
