Leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft, we will track where Illinois Fighting Illini interior defensive lineman Jer'Zhan Newton appears in the latest NFL mock drafts.

Jer'Zhan Newton NFL Mock Drafts

Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which Newton has appeared:

The Ringer - Danny Kelly

#21 overall, Miami Dolphins

After losing Christian Wilkins to the Raiders in free agency, the Dolphins look to plug gaps in the interior defensive line by drafting Newton here. The former Illinois star is an absolute pocket-wrecker from the inside, using a great first step and tremendous upper-body power to toss aside hapless linemen and get to the quarterback. He'll provide a much-needed boost at the defensive tackle spot.

NFL.com - Charles Davis

#18 overall, Cincinnati Bengals

The recent signing of Trent Brown to play right tackle allows the Bengals to add a forceful and needed defensive tackle for DC Lou Anarumo.

ESPN - Matt Miller

#35 overall, Arizona Cardinals

Coach Jonathan Gannon always had a strong rotation on the defensive line during his days as the Eagles' defensive coordinator, and the unit ran through 3-technique Fletcher Cox. Newton can be that player for Arizona with his stunning first-step quickness and nonstop motor. He did have foot surgery in the offseason and has yet to work out in the pre-draft process, but his tape is Round 1-caliber.

ESPN - Mike Tannenbaum

#23 overall, Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota did a great job of addressing its edges in free agency (Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel), and now I have the Vikings landing an explosive interior pass-rusher who had 18 sacks and 95 pressures over 45 games at Illinois. He's coming off a foot injury and is undersized for the position at 6-2 and 304 pounds, but his versatility and production are coveted on NFL defenses. Minnesota could also consider a cornerback here, like Alabama's Kool-Aid McKinstry or Clemson's Nate Wiggins.
