LaNorris Sellers — 2026 NFL Mock Draft Roundup 1.0

Leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft, we will track where South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers appears in the latest NFL mock drafts.

LaNorris Sellers NFL Mock Drafts

Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which LaNorris Sellers has appeared:

EDSFootball - Kevin Hanson

No. 2 overall — New York Jets

As the youngest quarterback in this mock, Sellers, who won't turn 21 until after the 2026 NFL Draft, may opt to return for another season. If he can improve his consistency and cut down on turnovers, however, the dual-threat's combination of elite size, arm strength and mobility give him as much upside as any quarterback in this draft class if he declares. While Justin Fields is under contract through 2026, Aaron Glenn, Darren Mougey, etc. could look for an upgrade.

CBS Sports - Josh Edwards

No. 6 overall — Las Vegas Raiders

Geno Smith could start and play most, if not all, of the 2026 season before giving way to Sellers. Smith will turn 35 during the upcoming season and quarterbacks do not often perform at a high level this late into their careers. Sellers showed a lot of growth for the Gamecocks this past season and may still have another level to take his game.

ESPN - Jordan Reid

No. 4 overall — New York Jets

If the Jets are picking this high, they probably didn't have a great 2025 season. And that means they would be in the market for a quarterback, despite another year on Justin Fields' contract.

Sellers' superb traits make him a contender for a meteoric rise up the board. He's a true dual threat, having passed for 2,534 yards and 18 touchdowns with 7 interceptions in 2024 while rushing for another 674 yards and seven scores. Sellers will have to improve his pocket vision and ball security (six lost fumbles in seven games), but he has the physical tools that NFL teams covet. He reminds me a lot of Donovan McNabb coming out of Syracuse.

NBC Sports - Eric Froton

No. 7 overall — Las Vegas Raiders

Sellers (6-3, 242 pounds) has the prototype dimensions and arm strength NFL franchises covet in their QB1. He got acclimated to the college game in his first season as a starter, completing 65% of his passes while holding onto the ball for an average of 3.30 seconds per pass, which needs to come down. All the tools are in place for Sellers to emerge in Year 3.

SI - Bryan Fischer

No. 6 overall — Las Vegas Raiders

Sellers might be the most intriguing quarterback in the country in 2025, given the flashes he showed when healthy as the Gamecocks starter. He's physically imposing with rare size and a cannon for an arm, and has bigger upside than just about anybody in the potential class of quarterbacks. His skill set will no doubt intrigue Pete Carroll and allow Vegas to find its long-term option under center.

CBS Sports - Josh Edwards

No. 2 overall — New York Jets

With his dual-threat skills, Sellers was one of the most entertaining college quarterbacks to watch last season. It is probably too early to be talking about him this early in the draft, but that will change if he takes another step in his development as a passer.

USA Today - Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz

No. 30 overall — Los Angeles Rams

Maybe this seems like a stretch for a team that reached an accord with Matthew Stafford this offseason and now is operating at least somewhat on the veteran's timeline. But even though Sellers is far from a finished product as a passer, the 6-3, 242-pound dual-threat option offers immensely tantalizing growth potential that could be harnessed if he is allowed to sit and learn behind Stafford before ascending to the top spot.
