Boston Celtics 2025 NBA Mock Draft Roundup 1.0

Leading up to the 2025 NBA Draft, our Boston Celtics Mock Draft Roundup will highlight recent picks for the Boston Celtics from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Celtics:

For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky

28. Kam Jones, Marquette

Arguably the most intriguing upperclassman in this class is Kam Jones, who has the most points created in the NCAA this season, per CBB Analytics. Marquette scores 26.6 points per 40 minutes more when Jones is on the floor relative to when he is not, which ranks as the most among all high-major players this year as well.

CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein

28. Johni Broome, Auburn

Al Horford can't play forever. Broome is the best big man in college basketball and may have just enough shooting potential to make it work in Boston.

Bleacher Report — Jonathan Wasserman

28. Kam Jones, Marquette

A proven shotmaker and consistently one of the more efficient rim-finishing guards in college hoops, Kam Jones has now taken off this year as a playmaker (6.4 assists).

Being 23 years old by draft night historically impacts draft stock, but it's getting tough to poke holes in a 6'5" combo with 273 career threes, a functional floater game, three consecutive seasons above 65.0 percent around the basket and gradually improving playmaking skills.

The Athletic — Sam Vecenie

28. Johni Broome, Auburn

One of two older bigs late in this first round whom NBA teams are excited about, Broome has been the best player in college basketball this season and has been good everywhere he's ever played. He was excellent at Morehead State. He has been excellent for two years at Auburn. He was also excellent at the NBA Draft Combine when he performed there in five-on-five settings. Sometimes, you just don't want to overthink players who have always been good. He's averaging 18.7 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.7 blocks. He's dominant on the interior as a post-up big and has also made 33 percent of his 2.5 3s per game over the last two seasons. Positionally, he's elite, and he knows how to carve out space using his frame. He's undersized for the center position in the NBA, but it's hard to look at what he's done and not envision a backup NBA center. Broome has been terrific all year, and I had a top-40 grade on him last cycle, too, before he decided to return to Auburn.

ESPN — Givony/Woo

28. Joan Beringer, Cedevita Olimpija (Slovenia)

Boston, which owns its pick and has no immediate need for rotation help, could take this opportunity to draft Beringer and develop younger talent. Though Beringer, a relatively inexperienced prospect who is still establishing himself in Europe, hasn't offered much box score production, he has earned an important role at Cedevita based on his defensive impact.

At 6-10, he's quite agile and has a presence covering space on the interior thanks to his length and fluid athleticism that project well long term in that role. Much of his game is still a work in progress -- his offensive impact is minimal -- but the upside on the other end will keep NBA teams interested. -- Woo
