Leading up to the 2025 NBA Draft, we will track where UConn Huskies guard/forward Liam McNeeley appears in the latest NBA mock drafts.

Liam McNeeley NBA Mock Drafts

Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which Liam McNeeley has appeared:

For the Win — Bryan Kalbrosky

Round 1, Pick 18 — Indiana Pacers

UConn freshman Liam McNeeley has had a relatively underwhelming freshman campaign relative to his expectations. But there are still flashes of promise from him, like when he had 26 points with 8 rebounds and 4 assists against Gonzaga on Dec. 14. He ranks in the 99th percentile among all NCAA players in the metric RAPM, per CBB Analytics, which is encouraging.

CBS Sports — Adam Finkelstein

Round 1, Pick 9 — Chicago Bulls

This too may be higher than most have McNeeley at this point, but he's again proven to be more than just a shooter this year, as he can make decisions and facilitate some within the flow of offense. He's out now with an ankle injury but needs to prove he's a solid enough defender that he won't be targeted at the next level.

Bleacher Report — Jonathan Wasserman

Round 1, Pick 14 — Atlanta Hawks (via SAC)

An ankle injury will cost Liam McNeeley weeks, but it will also highlight the missed impact of low-usage shotmaking and play-finishing. Connecticut needed it during its loss to Villanova on Wednesday.

McNeeley has a special knack for scoring within an offense's flow, mostly due to his transition shooting, off-ball movement and ability to take advantage of mismatches and space attacking as a pick-and-roll ball-handler.

The Athletic — Sam Vecenie

Round 1, Pick 8 — Sacramento Kings

McNeeley is out for a couple of weeks with an ankle injury, and that's extremely disappointing because it came right after Connecticut had started to feature him as a primary playmaker on offense. McNeeley is one of those players who does whatever the coach asks of him and can plug a significant number of holes across the court. He's an elite shooter, hitting 38 percent from 3 so far on some difficult looks, including highly sought-after movement 3s. He passes well and makes plays for his teammates consistently. He rarely turns it over with a near 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Defensively, he's big and knows how to use his size to his advantage. He rebounds really well for his size, reading the ball off the rim at a high level. He has a complete game, and in the six games before his injury, he averaged 15 points, five rebounds and three assists for a team that hadn't lost prior to his injury since its catastrophic 0-3 run in the Maui Invitational. McNeeley and Alex Karaban are the two best players on a team coming off two straight national titles that looks poised to make another deep run in the NCAA Tournament.

ESPN — Givony/Woo

Round 1, Pick 14 — San Antonio Spurs (via CHI)

This pick would remain with Chicago if it falls inside the top 10, but the Bulls have inched closer to .500 over the past month, making it more feasible that San Antonio could receive it.

McNeeley injured his ankle Jan. 1 and is slated to miss at least the next few weeks. A 26-point performance in a win against Gonzaga at Madison Square Garden was the high watermark of his season. Despite some offensive inconsistency, McNeeley's winning impact is easy to appreciate.

His ability to play a connective role, as a smart passer, capable shooter (37% from 3) and opportunistic scorer with size on the wing, will be attractive to NBA teams as a potential long-term supporting piece. Scouts have told ESPN they'd like to see him be a bit more efficient, but he has acclimated well to the college game. -- Woo

Fox Sports — John Fanta

Round 1, Pick 10 — Chicago Bulls

The 6-7 Connecticut wing has a feel for the game that is beyond his years and possesses the skills to be a microwave shot-maker in the NBA. McNeeley's work ethic is through the roof, fitting the UConn culture that has produced six selections in the last two drafts. Averaging 14 points, six rebounds and three assists while shooting 43% from the floor and 38% from 3-point range, he's a three-level scorer who uses his physical frame to create opportunities. McNeeley is stout on the defensive end of the floor and does the little things. He will be a quality role player for any organization. McNeeley is dealing with an ankle injury that will sideline him until at least the end of January.
