Jared Verse — NFL Mock Draft Roundup 2.0

Leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft, we will track where Florida State Seminoles edge Jared Verse appears in the latest NFL mock drafts.

Jared Verse NFL Mock Drafts

Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which Verse has appeared:

CBS Sports - Kyle Stackpole

#9 overall, Chicago Bears

Similar to Atlanta, the Bears got a lot better offensively with the additions of D'Andre Swift, Keenan Allen and then Caleb Williams. But they still need a pass rusher opposite Montez Sweat, so they look to the uber-productive Jared Verse out of Florida State.

NFL.com - Eric Edholm

#9 overall, Chicago Bears

Why Verse over Dallas Turner? Just a gut feeling here, but GM Ryan Poles appears to like bulk and edge-setting ability in his pass rushers. Either would be a fine choice, but we'll pencil in Verse, whose effort and speed/power combination could comprise a nice bookend set with Montez Sweat.

The Ringer - Danny Kelly

#22 overall, Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles do here what they always seem to do in the draft, gobble up value with a potential day-one contributor in Verse. The former Seminoles star is an explosive pass rusher who plays with a blend of speed and power. He'll be a nice complement to Josh Sweat, Haason Reddick, and Bryce Huff on the Eagles defensive line.

NFL.com - Charles Davis

#21 overall, Miami Dolphins

Need meets potential! The Dolphins lost their top two pass rushers to injury in 2023 (Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb). Here they seize the opportunity to add one of the best edge rushers in the draft.

CBS Sports - Pete Prisco

#9 overall, Chicago Bears

The Bears need to add an edge player opposite Montez Sweat. Jared Verse has the speed and power teams love. They could consider offensive line here, but edge makes more sense.

ESPN - Matt Miller

#19 overall, Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are pretty free to attack value with a "best player available" approach in Round 1. The retirement of Aaron Donald looms large, but breakout rookie Kobie Turner will slide into the 3-technique spot. Where the Rams really need help in the pass rush is off the edge, and that's where Verse would come in. He is relentless with high-effort production -- Verse helped lead FSU to an undefeated regular season with nine sacks and 50 pressures. He's a plug-and-play 4-3 defensive end starter with Trey Hendrickson-like ability.

ESPN - Mike Tannenbaum

#30 overall, Baltimore Ravens

I really want to get the Ravens another edge rusher in their front seven. Kyle Van Noy had nine sacks last season and Jadeveon Clowney had 9.5, but both are still on the free agent market. The depth isn't strong here. Verse had a great combine (4.58-second run in the 40 at 254 pounds and a standout showing in drills) and 18 sacks in two years with the Seminoles. His style of play would fit well with the Ravens.

The Athletic - Ben Standig

#11 overall (TRADE), Chicago Bears

All the good vibes surrounding the Bears — outside of angry Fields backers — overshadows their minuscule number of picks (league-low four). Having Allen and DJ Moore on the roster allows general manager Ryan Poles to let Odunze pass to acquire a high third-rounder and a needed pass rusher opposite Montez Sweat.
