Francis Mauigoa — 2026 NFL Mock Draft Roundup 1.0
Leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft, we will track where Miami Hurricanes offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa appears in the latest NFL mock drafts.
Francis Mauigoa NFL Mock Drafts
Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which Francis Mauigoa has appeared:
No. 20 overall — Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It's definitely possible that Mauigoa will be long gone by this point of the draft. Luke Goedeke is scheduled to become a free agent after the 2025 season. The former five-star recruit has started all 26 games the past two seasons, and Miami's right tackle moves well for a player his size (6'6", 340 pounds).
No. 7 overall — Carolina Panthers
Carolina picked up Ikem Ekwonu's option, but there is a world where they move on from him after the season or potentially even convert him to offensive guard. Mauigoa would give them a new left tackle on a rookie contract. Mauigoa's older brother, Francisco, was drafted in the fifth round by the Jets.
No. 21 overall — Houston Texans
The Texans have massively overturned their line after a disappointing 2024, and there's a good chance that overhaul will continue into 2026. I liked the Aireontae Ersery pick last week, but Houston has a lot of work to do in improving C.J. Stroud's protection. Mauigoa significantly improved at right tackle last season, not giving up a sack. The 6-6 315-pounder can control blockers at the point of attack. And while there is considerable debate among scouts about whether Mauigoa is a tackle or guard in the NFL, Houston needs a boost at both spots.
No. 14 overall — Pittsburgh Steelers
You'd have to expect Pittsburgh would consider moving back should the top five 2026 quarterbacks be off the board, as they are in this exercise. More realistically, the Steelers will probably end up with a top 10 selection since Mason Rudolph is set to lead them into battle this fall, which is a losing proposition. With all potential top QB options exhausted here, Miami OT Mauigoa (6-6, 315 pounds) will have to suffice.
No. 7 overall — Carolina Panthers
Teams that dove into Cam Ward's tape may have been drawn more toward his big offensive tackle at Miami before realizing that he wouldn't be draft-eligible until 2026. Mauigoa checks off the boxes in terms of size, movement in the passing game and rushing attack. He's playing for a terrific set of coaches who have a great history at developing offensive linemen. He is an easy addition for the Panthers as they look to keep Bryce Young upright.
No. 26 overall — Cincinnati Bengals
The younger brother of Francisco Mauigoa, who was drafted this past weekend by the Jets, Francis Mauigoa was a big-time recruit for the Hurricanes and has started all 26 games at right tackle over the last two years. With improved consistency in 2025, he will put himself in the conversation to be a potential first-rounder.
No. 6 overall — New York Giants
A consensus five-star recruit who Mario Cristobal has helped mold into a monster in the running game, Mauigoa has started all 26 games of his college career at right tackle, helping the Hurricanes lead the nation in points per game last year. He is quick and powerful but can get far over his skis, currently projecting better inside.

No. 7 overall — Cleveland Browns (via (via JAX))
Once the Browns have their long-term answer at quarterback in tow, they could turn their attention to safeguarding him. The mountainous Mauigoa (6-6, 315 pounds) still has to rein in his aggressiveness, but it's rare to find his blockers who boast his quickness and explosiveness, particularly at his size.
