Matayo Uiagalelei — 2027 NFL Mock Draft Roundup 1.0
Leading up to the 2027 NFL Draft, we will track where Oregon Ducks edge Matayo Uiagalelei appears in the latest NFL mock drafts.
Matayo Uiagalelei NFL Mock Drafts
Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which Matayo Uiagalelei has appeared:
No. 20 overall — Denver Broncos
The younger, bigger brother of NFL and longtime FBS standout quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, this power-packed edge rusher has the frame and game NFL teams are looking for. With 18.5 combined sacks over his first three years of action, Matayo Uiagalelei is already a proven producer and plays with the instincts and technique expected of a coach's son.
For the Win — Christian D'Andrea
No. 15 overall — New York Jets (via IND)
The Jets further beef up their pass rush a player whose draft buzz subsided in 2025 (sensing a trend?) but remains a high ceiling prospect with a proven history of performance. Uiagalelei had 10.5 sacks for the Ducks in 2024.
No. 11 overall — New York Giants
Uiagalelei has an NFL frame who wins with power and a high motor, particularly when aligning wide. That said, he lacks bend and needs to add to his pass-rush arsenal. His 2025 tape wasn't nearly as far along as Tuli Tuipulotu coming out of college and he was a second-round pick (54th overall) of similar age and with similar tools. Looking for a big leap in '26.
No. 32 overall — Los Angeles Rams
As mentioned above, Uiagalelei was one of several Ducks who opted to return to school despite being seen as Day 1 or Day 2 prospects in this past draft. He had six sacks last season and is expected to take another step in 2026. The 6-foot-5, 272-pound Uiagalelei has shown flashes and can win with his length, diverse set of moves and power profile. Byron Young's free agency is looming, so the Rams could be in play for a player of Uiagalelei's ilk.
No. 17 overall — Chicago Bears
The younger brother of DJ Uiagalelei, Matayo has carved out his own path in Eugene as one of the most talented pass rushers in the country. A former two-way standout at St. John Bosco, he pairs suddenness and athleticism with a dense frame, offering three-down versatility. While his motor can run hot and cold, the talent is undeniable.
No. 24 overall — Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs traded up into the top 10 this year, but not for a pass rusher as many projected before the draft. Their need at the position next year will hinge on the rookie success of second-round pick R. Mason Thomas. Uiagalelei recorded 52 pressures last season and returns to lead what is projected to be the top defensive line in college football.
