Rome Odunze — NFL Mock Draft Roundup 2.0

Leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft, we will track where Washington Huskies wide receiver Rome Odunze appears in the latest NFL mock drafts.

Rome Odunze NFL Mock Drafts

Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which Odunze has appeared:

CBS Sports - Kyle Stackpole

#11 overall (TRADE), Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers pass on Marvin Harrison Jr. but gain the No. 23 overall pick as well as Rome Odunze, who would be fighting for the No. 1 WR spot in other draft classes.

NFL.com - Eric Edholm

#8 overall (TRADE), Arizona Cardinals

A year ago, GM Monti Ossenfort moved from No. 3 overall down to 12, then back up to 6 to acquire a much-needed bookend blocker (Paris Johnson Jr.). In this simulation, he pulls off a similar trick to target another big need: wide receiver. Jumping ahead of the Bears is the key here. Kyler Murray gets a promising WR1 candidate in Odunze, whom Daniel Jeremiah has compared to Larry Fitzgerald.

The Ringer - Danny Kelly

#6 overall, New York Giants

With Nabers off the board, the Giants grab Odunze, who gives Daniel Jones (or Drew Lock) a prototypical no. 1 receiver to throw to. In a pass-catching group that features a field stretcher in Jalin Hyatt and a YAC-creator in Wan'Dale Robinson, Odunze is the perfect fit. He's a ball-winner who is best in high-leverage situations like third downs and in the red zone.

NFL.com - Charles Davis

#6 overall, New York Giants

I still feel that this is a prime spot for Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy, but after acquiring Drew Lock to provide insurance behind Daniel Jones, the Giants opt for the WR1 they desperately need.

CBS Sports - Pete Prisco

#10 overall, New York Jets

They are trying to get more help outside to go with Garrett Wilson. Rome Odunze is a big target who would make a nice complement to Wilson's game -- even with the one-year signing of Mike Williams.

ESPN - Matt Miller

#9 overall, Chicago Bears

Get your franchise quarterback at No. 1 overall and find his new best friend at No. 9. That's the model for the Bears in this draft if no trade-back opportunities are attractive. (Chicago has four total picks and none beyond Round 4.) Adding Odunze to a pass-catcher group that includes Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett makes this offense dangerous. The junior wideout is coming off a season with 92 catches, 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns.

ESPN - Mike Tannenbaum

#14 overall, New Orleans Saints

Offensive line might be the bigger position of need, but this value for Odunze is just too good. He's available at this point only because I've had five QBs come off the board, pushing down a great player. It's a break for the Saints, who need another young WR to complement Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. Odunze is one of my favorite prospects in the class -- he ran a 4.45 40 at 6-3 and 212 pounds in Indy and plays even bigger and faster than that. I love his physicality at the catch point and ability to break tackles in the open field. He had 92 catches for 1,640 yards and 13 scores last season and should develop into a front-line No. 1 WR. I see a lot of Terrell Owens in his game.

The Athletic - Ben Standig

#9 overall (TRADE), Arizona Cardinals

Projected trade: Cardinals acquire No. 9 from Bears for Nos. 11 and 71

General manager Monti Ossenfort said he was "open" for business at No. 4. We'll assume the desire to deal extends anywhere on Day 1. With 11 picks entering the draft, tied for the most in the league, plus more from the trade with Minnesota, the Cardinals have the assets to move around the board as needed. Arizona jumps up for the 6-foot-3 Odunze, who The Athletic's Dane Brugler believes "has the pass-catching instincts and competitive focus to be a high-end NFL starter."
