Cashius Howell — 2026 NFL Mock Draft Roundup 2.0

Leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft, we will track where Texas A&M Aggies edge Cashius Howell appears in the latest NFL mock drafts.

Cashius Howell NFL Mock Drafts

Here are some of the latest mock drafts in which Cashius Howell has appeared:

NFL.com — Charles Davis

No. 15 overall — Tampa Bay Buccaneers

There will be a lot of talk about Howell having shorter arms, but the tape shows an Aggie who plays every snap with intensity. Todd Bowles could use more juice off the edge.

The Athletic — NFL Writers

No. 21 overall — Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Trade! The Buccaneers trade the 15th pick to the Steelers for the 21st pick and a third-rounder.

At 6-2, 248 pounds, Howell doesn't have ideal size, which is why he may be available this late. What he has is a track record of production against elite competition. The SEC Defensive Player of the Year had 25 sacks in three seasons and 11.5 in 2025. He may not be a difference-maker against the run, but Howell should make an immediate impact on passing downs. Howell would fill the Bucs' most pressing need, but we should consider that general manager Jason Licht doesn't always draft a player who fills what everyone else thinks is a need. (See Emeka Egbuka.) Howell, though, might be too good to pass up.

CBS Sports — Fornelli

No. 17 overall — Detroit Lions

Cashius Howell is a high-motor, productive pass rusher who has shown the ability to line up at different spots. He's probably not somebody you want dropping into coverage a lot, which could make him less attractive to some teams, but the Lions need another edge to take some of the load off Aidan Hutchinson.

ESPN — Field Yates

No. 15 overall — Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers must add pass-rush juice this offseason, as they have gone four straight seasons without a player reaching the eight-sack mark. There's an argument that Howell is the most explosive rusher in the class -- he and Bailey are my top two contenders. Howell won SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2025 with 11.5 sacks. He lacks prototypical arm length for an edge rusher but more than makes up for it with his athletic burst and ability to bend around offensive tackles. He'd help get this pass rush on track.

Yahoo! Sports — McDonald/Tice

No. 32 overall — Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks have hit the "no-clue-let's-mock-them-a-pass-rusher" level in their roster building. They don't have too many holes that can immediately be plugged here, so let's just give them another front seven player to add to that defense.

Fox Sports — Joel Klatt

No. 14 overall — Baltimore Ravens

I got to know new Ravens head coach Jesse Minter when he was Michigan's defensive coordinator for a couple of seasons, and the principles of that defense start with hard edges. The Ravens also have a need for some pass rush help, ranking in the bottom-five in sacks. Howell was one of the better pass rushers in the country this past season, getting 11.5 sacks in 13 games.
