The picks listed below are sorted by when the mock draft was updated (date in parenthesis) with the most recent mocks listed first.

> MLB Tickets: Pittsburgh Pirates Tickets

MLB.com - Mayo (6/2)
Marcelo Mayer, SS, Eastlake HS (Chula Vista, Calif.)

This makes three weeks in a row we've had Mayer here, with the certainty of his bat standing out above Jordan Lawlar, with the possibility of Henry Davis here a real thing.

The Athletic - Law (5/27)
Henry Davis, C, Louisville

Still wide open here -- Davis, Marcelo Mayer, Jordan Lawlar, and, with decreased likelihood right now, Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker. That's the rough order of probability of those five names for pick 1-1 right now.

MLB.com - Callis (5/26)
Marcelo Mayer, SS, Eastlake HS (Chula Vista, Calif.)

The Pirates appear to be targeting bats over arms at No. 1, with Mayer the frontrunner, fellow high school shortstop Jordan Lawlar also in the mix and Louisville catcher Henry Davis the only realistic college option.

ESPN - McDaniel (5/11)
Jordan Lawlar, SS, Jesuit H.S. (TX), Vanderbilt commit

Lawlar is still the favorite to go first, partly because he fits Pittsburgh's organizational focus (upside, regardless of how long it takes). He's also the best prospect at the moment, despite some swing-and-misses in high school games. He's a 6-foot-2 shortstop who is a plus runner with above-average hit and power tools. Only a handful of prospects like that are in the minors right now.
