St. Louis Cardinals 2021 MLB Mock Draft Roundup

We've been tracking MLB mock drafts from various baseball analysts, writers and bloggers via our 2021 MLB Mock Draft Database.

The St. Louis Cardinals have the 18th pick in the 2021 MLB Draft and our St. Louis Cardinals 2021 MLB Mock Draft Roundup compiles picks for the Cardinals in recently-updated mock drafts.

The picks listed below are sorted by when the mock draft was updated (date in parenthesis) with the most recent mocks listed first.

MLB.com - Mayo (6/2)
Ryan Cusick, RHP, Wake Forest

This part of the Draft is the first time I've started hearing Gavin Williams (East Carolina), but he didn't make the cut this week and Cusick has arm strength aplenty.

The Athletic - Law (5/27)
Will Bednar, RHP, Mississippi State

Bednar has one of the best sliders in the draft class and has thrown a ton of strikes for the Bulldogs this year, finishing third in the regular season in the SEC in strikeouts. The Cardinals have shown they'll consider pretty much any type of player and aren't afraid to go for upside, which would make them one of the teams to watch on players like Chandler, Will Taylor, and Joshua Baez too.

MLB.com - Callis (5/26)
Gunnar Hoglund, RHP, Mississippi

An almost-certain top-10 pick before blowing out his elbow earlier this month and requiring Tommy John surgery, Hoglund is still a lock first-rounder as an advanced college starter.

ESPN - McDaniel (5/11)
Ty Madden, RHP, Texas

Madden is a big power righty from Texas that relies on a standout fastball/slider combination. He is generally seen as likely to fit at picks eight to twelve as a safer college arm with some stuff and performance, but a number of teams aren't as enthusiastic about him in that area (I won't spend time in the mock breaking down his vertical approach angle). If someone slides a half-dozen picks from general expectations, he's a decent guess.
