2020 NFL Power Rankings: Indianapolis Colts

Throughout the 2020 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Indianapolis Colts rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a Week 13 roundup for the Colts in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.

The Athletic -- Rank: 12

Meeting expectations: The Colts have had ups and downs through the first 12 weeks, but if you would've told fans before the season that they'd be sitting at 7-4 through 11 games, I think most would've taken that. Frank Reich's offense ranks 17th in efficiency, but if you look at it objectively, that pretty much matches the talent level on that side of the ball. Indianapolis plays hard, and Reich does a good job with game management.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 9

It was amazing to see how different their defense was without DeForest Buckner and Denico Autry on their front. They looked like a different team against the Titans.

USA Today -- Rank: 13

Perhaps Sunday's absence of DT DeForest Buckner, stuck on reserve/COVID-19 list, will help finally underscore what a vital player he is.

ESPN -- Rank: 9

Most important game remaining: Week 14 at Las Vegas

The Colts lost out on being able to control their playoff destiny when Tennessee beat them Sunday to take a one-game lead over Indianapolis for first place in the AFC South. The Colts would have the seventh and final spot if the playoffs started today. The playoffs obviously don't start today, which means the Colts can't afford any more slip-ups. The Raiders are right in the thick of things for a playoff spot too, as they have just one more loss than the Colts. That's why that matchup is big for both teams. NFL.com -- Rank: 10

If the Colts hoped to prove their Week 10 win over the Titans was no fluke, they didn't do a very good job of it on Sunday. Playing without DeForest Buckner (COVID-19 list), Indy's front seven was dominated by Tennessee's offensive line and running back Derrick Henry, who piled up 140 yards and three touchdowns by halftime. The 449 total yards by the Titans were the most allowed by the Colts in any game this season, and they surrendered 35 points in the first half one week after giving up 28 points in the first two quarters against the Packers. On offense, the Colts dipped the moment left tackle Anthony Castonzo exited with a knee injury. Castonzo's health is a major subplot to watch with the statue-like Philip Rivers behind center.
