Below you will find a Week 4 roundup for the Jaguars in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.
The Athletic -- Rank: 26
What we learned: They have the league's worst defense (EPA per snap) through three weeks. Cornerback C.J. Henderson is going to have ups and downs like all rookies do. He was terrific in Week 1 but had a rough outing Thursday night against the Dolphins. It wasn't just Henderson. The entire defense struggled to find answers, allowing three touchdown drives of 60-plus yards to start the game.
CBS Sports -- Rank: 27
They will be fun to watch because of the offense, but it will be a necessity to score big with the way the defense plays. They won't win a lot of games.
USA Today -- Rank: 27
RB James Robinson one of the season's unheralded stories. No one in Duval misses Leonard Fournette with Robinson amassing 339 total yards, most ever by an undrafted player through his first three games since the common draft commenced in 1967.
ESPN -- Rank: 27
What we got wrong: The Jaguars would struggle to stop the run.
After losing NT Al Woods (opt out) and DE/DT Rodney Gunter (heart condition), it looked like the Jaguars were going to be worse than they were last season, when they gave up 139 yards per game. Through three weeks, however, there has been marked improvement. They're allowing 116 yards per game (15th in the NFL) and opponents are averaging 3.8 yards per carry (eighth best). Part of that might be due to opponents' success through the air (opposing QBs are completing a league-high 80% of their passes), but NT Abry Jones and LB Myles Jack have raised their level of play against the run. -- Mike DiRocco

I guess we now know just how important D.J. Chark is to the offense. Playing without their top deep threat, the Jaguars and quarterback Gardner Minshew looked punchless in a 31-13 loss to the Dolphins. The Miami defense dared Minshew to beat them with downfield throws, but the Jags QB was either unwilling or unable to stand up to the challenge. According to ESPN, Minshew was 0 for 5 on throws of more than 10 air yards before the Dolphins went into prevent defense with the game all but decided. Speaking of defense, the Jaguars were exposed by Ryan Fitzpatrick, who did pretty much whatever he wanted in front of a prime-time audience. This was a "bury the ball" game for Doug Marrone.
