New Orleans Saints Mock Draft Roundup 1.0

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2021 NFL draft, we will update our New Orleans Saints Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the New Orleans Saints from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Saints:

Pro Football Network - DiCecco (6/7)
29) New Orleans Saints: Dylan Moses, LB Alabama

The Saints selected Zack Baun in April, and Demario Davis remains one of the most underrated second-level defenders in football, but the injury concerns surrounding Alex Anzalone and Kiko Alonzo will always loom, and landing Moses, a three-down tackling machine, this late in the opening round is excellent value.

Fox Sports - McIntyre (6/7)
30. New Orleans Saints -- Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame

The Saints' third round pick this year (Zack Baun) doesn't address their need at inside linebacker, but JOK does.

Walter Football (5/19)
30. New Orleans Saints: Jevon Holland, S, Oregon

The Saints need to continue to improve their secondary, as their pass defense was a weakness in 2019.

CBS Sports - Edwards (5/12)
29. New Orleans Saints: Jaycee Horn, DB, South Carolina

Joe Horn's son comes home to play for the Saints? It is a story straight out of NFL folklore. New York finally parted with Janoris Jenkins. There is no reason to believe that the Giants' cast-off is the answer for the Saints.

CBS Sports - Trapasso (5/4)
29. New Orleans Saints: Hamsah Nasirildeen, S, Florida State

Nasirlideen is the next safety/linebacker hybrid with supreme athletic gifts.

PFF - Renner (4/30)
29. New Orleans Saints -- Edge Quincy Roche, Miami (FL)

You'll probably know him as the other Miami edge defender this fall. Roche transferred in from Temple where he was pretty much unblockable for the Owls in 2019. His 68 pressures are the most of any returning player in the country, as is his 93.3 pass-rushing grade. He needs to add some muscle to his frame, but he has the pass-rushing moves down pat.

San Diego Union Tribune (4/29)
29. New Orleans (12/1) -- Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State

Lance is a dual-threat signal-caller who racked up 2,786 passing yards, throwing 28 touchdowns against zero interceptions with 1,100 yards on the ground and 14 rushing touchdowns.

SI - Hanson (4/27)
29. New Orleans Saints: Devonta Smith, WR, Alabama

The Saints signed 33-year-old receiver Emmanuel Sanders to a two-year deal this offseason, but Smith would give the Saints a longer-term complement to Michael Thomas. Playing along side Jeudy, Ruggs and Waddle, Smith led Alabama's receiving corps in both yards (1,256) and touchdowns (14) last season.

Bleacher Report - Miller (4/27)
29. New Orleans Saints -- QB Jamie Newman, Georgia

Yes, the team has Taysom Hill under contract for two more seasons and it has reportedly brought in Jameis Winston on a one-year deal, but until Hill completes more than his six career completions, it is very hard to believe the 29-year-old is the long-term answer at quarterback for life after Drew Brees.

Georgia's Jamie Newman looks to break out this year after transferring from Wake Forest, where he was already one of the more exciting underclassmen in this class. Don't forget, the last three No. 1 picks in the NFL draft (Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray and Joe Burrow) were all transfer quarterbacks. Newman is one to keep a close eye on.

SB Nation - Kadar (4/27)
28. New Orleans Saints: Israel Mukuamu, CB, South Carolina

Janoris Jenkins' cap hit nearly triples in 2021 from $5.05 million to $14.2 million, so the Saints could look to get out from under his deal after this season. If so, they might go after a cornerback in next year's draft.

The Athletic - Brugler (4/27)
28. New Orleans Saints -- *Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

The Saints have a pretty good track record with Ohio State players, especially at wide receiver. Olave is leaner than ideal, but his route running skills and ball skills are NFL ready, and whenever the Buckeyes needed a big play, it was usually Olave making it happen.
