2020 NFL Power Rankings: Denver Broncos

Throughout the 2020 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Denver Broncos rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a post-NFL Draft roundup for the Broncos in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.

The Athletic -- Rank: 22

Broncos general manager John Elway appeared to divide his offseason plan into two phases: spend a ton to revamp the defense via free agency and the veteran trade market, and get young and fast on offense through the draft. Are the Broncos any closer to catching the Chiefs? Maybe not, but they should be closer to competing for a wild card spot if their changes mean they can score more points.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 18

John Elway had a good draft and added some much-needed weapons to the offense in Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler. Drew Lock has to be happy.

USA Today -- Rank: 14

RB Melvin Gordon in free agency. WRs Jerry Jeudy, K.J. Hamler atop strong draft. OLB Bradley Chubb on the mend. Keep an eye on this team.

ESPN -- Rank: 23

Player who benefited: QB Drew Lock. It's no contest. The Broncos drafted three receivers, including Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler with the team's first two picks; a tight end, Albert Okwuegbunam, who ran a 4.49-second 40-yard dash at the combine; and a starting center, Lloyd Cushenberry III. Denver then signed two more wide receivers after the draft concluded. That is in addition to signing guard Graham Glasgow and running back Melvin Gordon in free agency. If you needed proof the Broncos are giving their second-year quarterback every chance to succeed, just look at their offseason moves. -- Jeff Legwold

NFL.com -- Rank: 21

The Broncos appear serious about turning over the reins of their franchise to quarterback Drew Lock, so it only makes sense to surround the second-year passer with more legitimate talent. Running back Melvin Gordon and guard/center Graham Glasgow were imported in free agency, and Denver used the 15th overall pick on wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, who fills an obvious need opposite Courtland Sutton. John Elway wasn't done, however. The GM used Denver's second pick on another wide receiver, this time Penn State standout KJ Hamler, your classic Undersized Vertical Deep Threat Guy (UVDTG). Everyone wants their own Tyreek Hill these days. If Elway is right about Lock, the Broncos should be able to hold their own in the high-flying AFC West.
