Below you will find a Week 1 roundup for the Jaguars in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.
The Athletic -- Rank: 32
Jacksonville has won six games or fewer in eight of the last nine seasons and established itself as one of the league's worst-run franchises. The Jaguars' goal should be to gather more information on Gardner Minshew and develop their younger players, but there's been no indication that this organization has any semblance of a plan. The Jaguars have extra draft capital in 2021, but it's unclear who will be making decisions for them. This feels like a lost season for them before they've even played a game.
CBS Sports -- Rank: 31
Are they tanking for Trevor Lawrence? It looks that way. But what happens if Gardner Minshew has a big season? Then what?
USA Today -- Rank: 32
Already anticipating next summer's most compelling quarterback battle as Minshew Mania desperately tries to hold off Trevor Lawrence.
ESPN -- Rank: 32
Is Gardner Minshew II the answer at QB?
Michael DiRocco: He had a solid rookie season in relief of Nick Foles, going 6-6 as a starter and throwing 21 touchdown passes with only six interceptions, but the offense still averaged only 18.8 points per game. That was good enough for general manager Dave Caldwell and coach Doug Marrone to give him 2020 as a chance to prove he can be the long-term starter. To do that, though, he has to win games. The Jaguars won just 51 games and had just one winning season over the past decade. Turning that around starts with better production in the red zone. Per ESPN Stats & Information, no team had fewer drives reach the red zone than the Jaguars from 2010 to '19, and they ranked 28th in red zone TD percentage and 31st in red zone scoring percentage.

The team that was one bad call away from making the Super Bowl has now been taken down to the studs. The demolition was completed in the past week with the trade of Yannick Ngakoue and release of Leonard Fournette, two stars during Jacksonville's run to the AFC Championship Game in 2017. Fournette's release leaves the backfield particularly barren. Who'll get the touches back there? Ryquell Armstead's back on the COVID-19 reserve list. Can undrafted rookie James Robinson truly answer the bell? Devine Ozigbo? Chris Thompson? The fullback is a guy named Bruce Miller, who spent the last four years out of football. Everything is fine.
