Below you will find a Week 8 roundup for the Jaguars in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.
The Athletic -- Rank: 31
They were competitive and had a 29-22 lead late in the third quarter against the Chargers. But the Jaguars' defense fell apart, and they had a costly fumble on a kickoff return. That's six straight losses with the last three coming by 10 points or more.
CBS Sports -- Rank: 31
How much longer can they go with Gardner Minshew? He just isn't playing well and they are on their bye this week, so it might make sense to make the change.
USA Today -- Rank: 30
Their six-game slide is only eclipsed by the Jets. In a normal year, it would be a great time to get away to the United Kingdom for a week.
ESPN -- Rank: 30
Who needs to step up: DE Josh Allen
When the Jaguars traded Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue, they were counting on Allen to be an even better pass-rusher than he was as a rookie (10.5 sacks). Allen has made minimal impact, though, with just two sacks and seven tackles in five games. (He did miss two games with a knee injury.) He is getting more attention from opponents but also isn't winning as many one-on-one battles with blockers as he should. He has to be better -- much better -- in the second half of the season. -- Mike DiRocco

Did you see some of those looks from D.J. Chark as Gardner Minshew missed on downfield throws late in Sunday's 39-29 loss to the Chargers? Frustration is building for the Jaguars, who hit their bye coming off six straight losses after their season-opening win against the Colts. Let's try to stay positive: James Robinson, an undrafted rookie, has been a revelation, outplaying most of the first- and second-year running backs in the league through seven weeks. Robinson scored twice and had a career-high 119 rush yards and 137 scrimmage yards against Los Angeles, another productive day in a season that's been full of them. There's plenty of uncertainty in Jacksonville right now, but Robinson is securing his place in the franchise's future.
