2020 NFL Power Rankings: New York Giants

Throughout the 2020 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the New York Giants rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a Week 4 roundup for the Giants in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.

The Athletic -- Rank: 30

What we learned: Daniel Jones isn't improving. It's early, but for those who were bullish on him making a second-year leap, this start has been disappointing. Jones threw a bad interception before halftime that led directly to a 49ers field goal. The offense was without Saquon Barkley and Sterling Shepard, but then again, the 49ers were without their top three cornerbacks and Nick Bosa. Jones produced the fourth-worst completion percentage above expectation among Week 3 starters. New play caller Jason Garrett doesn't appear to be doing anything special to play to Jones' strengths, and the offensive line has struggled. The Giants will be underdogs in their next two games against the Rams and Cowboys.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 31

This is going to be a tough first season for coach Joe Judge. Maybe they needed more training-camp sprints.

USA Today -- Rank: 32

They were even more miserable against San Francisco's backup JV in Week 3, which already has locals opining about QB Daniel Jones' outlook.

ESPN -- Rank: 31

What we got wrong: Saquon Barkley would approach 2,500 yards from scrimmage.

Give me a little break? Barkley's knee gave out while he was being tackled in Week 2. Instead of getting the ball a ton and playing in an offense that was built around him, he's now out for the season. The Giants are without their best player and their offense is a mess, which makes my prediction that this would finally be tight end Evan Engram's big year another bad miss. -- Jordan Raanan

NFL.com -- Rank: 31

The Giants are the best team in New York ... unfortunately, they're worse than everyone else. Big Blue was dreadful at home on Sunday, bullied up and down the field by a 49ers team missing several key players on both sides of the ball in a 36-9 loss. Daniel Jones threw an interception and was charged with another lost fumble; his turnover issues cannot be ignored and will make him a figure of increasing scrutiny with the Giants steaming toward a high pick in the first round next spring. That said, this is not all on the second-year quarterback. The Giants lack difference-makers on defense, and the loss of Saquon Barkley has robbed the offense of the only thing that made it special. Dark days in the Meadowlands.
