2021 NFL Power Rankings: Las Vegas Raiders

Throughout the 2021 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Las Vegas Raiders rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a Week 10 roundup for the Raiders in our consensus 2021 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 17

Bold second-half prediction: WR DeSean Jackson will provide a positive spark.

We've seen this before, right? The Raiders bring in a flashy vet to take them to the next step, only to watch it all wash out. Marshawn Lynch did not ruin the locker room chemistry so much as alter it; the roster and, well, coaching staff could not handle it. Antonio Brown just took a wrecking ball to the whole thing on his way out of town, and it ruined a season. Jackson, though, realizes this is his last stop and is needed for one real and specific purpose: to be a vertical threat to keep defenses honest. And the sooner he connects with Derek Carr, the better. Hey, you wanted bold. -- Paul Gutierrez

NFL.com -- Rank: 15

The Raiders capped a tragic and tumultuous week with a painful loss to the Giants at the Meadowlands. Derek Carr threw a third-quarter pick-six and lost a fumble with the Raiders just 13 yards from the potential game-tying score in the final minute. Vegas had hoped for a positive result on the field five days after the deadly DUI crash that prompted multiple felony charges against Henry Ruggs III, who was released by the team after the accident. On Monday, the same day Vegas signed veteran DeSean Jackson to replace Ruggs, the team cut ties with troubled cornerback Damon Arnette, another 2020 first-round pick. Shutting out outside issues has become a weekly challenge for this group.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 14

That was a bad loss against the Giants, one that they can't afford in a good division. They've dealt with a lot this season, and maybe that factored into the outcome.

USA Today -- Rank: 15

In span of a week, they had to cut both their 2020 first-round picks, WR Henry Ruggs III and CB Damon Arnette, for reasons that had nothing to do with football. Have to wonder how much more this team can endure ... and how many more mistakes GM Mike Mayock can weather.

The Athletic -- Rank: 14

Are they good? Phew, where to start. Yes, the Raiders fall into the "good" bucket, but we have to heavily consider off-field circumstances. Losing to the Giants wasn't great, but it's understandable after another emotional week. We're still generally impressed with Derek Carr, and the Raiders have a crucial division game against the Chiefs on Sunday night.
