2020 NFL Power Rankings: Pittsburgh Steelers

Throughout the 2020 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Pittsburgh Steelers rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a Week 12 roundup for the Steelers in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.

The Athletic -- Rank: 2

Be thankful for: Having the scouting secret with wide receivers. General manager Kevin Colbert did it again with Chase Claypool. He has 559 receiving yards and eight touchdowns through 10 games as a rookie. Claypool has also run for two more scores. Pittsburgh currently has three wide receivers with 500-plus yards. All three -- Claypool, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson -- were drafted, but none was a first-round pick. Smith-Schuster is a pending free agent. That might cause alarm among some fan bases, but not the Steelers. They're one year ahead in planning to replace him if he signs elsewhere.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 1

They have a real chance to go undefeated for the season. If they beat the Ravens this week, they can basically lock up the division.

USA Today -- Rank: 1

Sweep a depleted Baltimore team on Thanksgiving night, and talk of the league's second-ever 16-0 regular season should really ramp up. Pittsburgh might also sew up NFL's first 2020 playoff berth in Week 12.

ESPN -- Rank: 1

What they're thankful for: QB Ben Roethlisberger

At 10-0, the Steelers' cup really runneth over with gratitude. The Steelers should be thankful for an undefeated record, including wins in trap games and against previously undefeated opponents. And, of course, there's the three-game lead over the rest of the division. But the thing -- or rather, person -- the Steelers should be most thankful for this season is easy: Roethlisberger. Without the quarterback, the Steelers wouldn't be in this position. He's a calming, veteran presence capable of taking over a game, which he has done a couple of times this season. And his health is the difference-maker for a team that was 8-8 last year without him. -- Brooke Pryor

NFL.com -- Rank: 2

The Steelers might need to win every game on their schedule to hold off the Chiefs for the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Don't rule it out. Pittsburgh is 10-for-10 on the season after a 27-3 win over the outclassed Jaguars in Jacksonville. Pittsburgh's defense was a living nightmare for Jake Luton, who took a beating and threw four interceptions (two apiece by Minkah Fitzpatrick and Terrell Edmunds). Ben Roethlisberger led the offense with his usual efficiency, and Chase Claypool scored the 10th touchdown of his outstanding rookie season. Claypool and Diontae Johnson have added a level to this passing game that makes Pittsburgh hard to beat. Well ... impossible to beat so far.
