2020 NFL Power Rankings: Seattle Seahawks

Throughout the 2020 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Seattle Seahawks rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a post-NFL Draft roundup for the Seahawks in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.

The Athletic -- Rank: 5

We think a theme of this season -- and within these rankings -- is going to be offensive continuity and confidence in the quarterback. For the Seahawks, their top-five spot has to be attributed to the latter. The Seahawks are contenders because of Russell Wilson, and while we could quibble over pass rush additions (or lack thereof), our panelists clearly believe Wilson will make the Seahawks competitive.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 6

They haven't had a great offseason in terms of adding pieces that will help right away, but Russell Wilson will again make this team a contender.

USA Today -- Rank: 15

Defense reliant on its front could be in for letdown without Jadeveon Clowney. Also questions about health of running backs, retooled O-line.

ESPN -- Rank: 5

Player who benefited: WR David Moore. And for that matter, Phillip Dorsett. Moore and Dorsett look like the most realistic candidates to be Seattle's third receiver behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. They might have had competition if the Seahawks had drafted a receiver earlier than the last pick of the sixth round, where they took Florida's Freddie Swain. Seventh-round pick Stephen Sullivan looks more like a tight end and a development prospect than someone who will have a significant role right away. That's good news for Moore and Dorsett, who are scheduled to be free agents next offseason. -- Brady Henderson

NFL.com -- Rank: 13

So are the Seahawks out on bringing back Jadeveon Clowney or not? Pete Carroll said the free-agent defender could still return to Seattle, but then the Seahawks moved up 11 spots in the second round to select Tennessee edge defender Darrell Taylor. Seattle added another edge player in Day 3, taking Syracuse's Alton Robinson early in the fifth round. Carroll and GM John Schneider now have protection if Clowney signs elsewhere, but it's also fair to wonder if the three-time Pro Bowler could still be in their plans. Few teams in the NFL were worse at getting to the quarterback last season. Then again, Clowney was part of that problem, contributing just three of Seattle's 28 sacks. Decisions, decisions.
