2020 NFL Power Rankings: Los Angeles Rams

Throughout the 2020 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Los Angeles Rams rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a post-NFL Draft roundup for the Rams in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.

The Athletic -- Rank: 15

Did the Rams fall a spot since our free-agency rankings because of their meh draft performance or because of the reaction to the new uniforms? Who can say? All we know is that we're going to be seeing a lot of the Rams -- in those new uniforms -- in prime time this season so they better play as well as they think they look.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 19

They played in a Super Bowl 16 months ago and hardly resemble the same team. This season will challenge Sean McVay and his new coordinators.

USA Today -- Rank: 20

Maybe it's the new logo. Maybe it's the exodus of so many vets. But team just one year removed from Super Bowl has look of retrograding outfit.

ESPN -- Rank: 17

Player who benefited: QB Jared Goff. The Rams moved on from two key players when they released running back Todd Gurley and traded receiver Brandin Cooks. Gurley was Goff's every-down back, and Cooks was the speedy deep threat who stretched a defense. But with their first two picks in the draft, both in the second round, the Rams selected Florida State RB Cam Akers and Florida WR Van Jefferson. The team also picked up tight end Brycen Hopkins in the fourth round. They are expected to contribute as rookies, and their addition ensures that Goff will again have a full arsenal of playmakers. -- Lindsey Thiry

NFL.com -- Rank: 17

The Rams have several roster holes and not enough cap space or draft picks to fix everything in one offseason. Coach Sean McVay and GM Les Snead started plugging away in the draft. Out the door are running back Todd Gurley and wide receiver Brandin Cooks. Enter second-round picks Cam Akers (RB) and Van Jefferson (WR) as their presumed replacements. Clay Matthews was one-and-done in Los Angeles, so say hello to outside linebacker Terrell Lewis, drafted 84th overall out of Alabama. Eric Weddle is also history, so here comes fourth-round rookie Terrell Burgess at safety. You get the picture. The Rams are getting younger and cheaper. That second part is especially important with mega-contracts on the books for Jared Goff, Aaron Donald -- and soon enough -- Jalen Ramsey.
